Sohra (ソオラ is a whale-like Sōra)Kaiju who appears in the 2023 Kadokawa manga GAMERA -Rebirth- code thyrsos.
Name
The monster is introduced by the name Sōra (ソオラ), but is referred to as Soara (ソアラ) in chapter 4-2. The English translation of the manga does not reflect this, using "Sohra" throughout.
Design
Sohra is a large, lumbering quadruped who bears some resemblance to baleen whales, though its jaws are lined with rows of teeth and it possesses a set of flaring gills along the side of its neck. It possesses dark purple coloration on the dorsal side of its body while its belly appears to be dark grey with some lighter patches.

GAMERA -Rebirth- code thyrsos
Sohra was one of the many Kaiju created in the ancient civilization of Elisitania to fight in proxy wars between warring factions over resources. Sohra was the creation of Lucius, and was set to fight the monster Vaora in one of these staged battles. While Vaora initially gained the upper hand, Sohra incinerated its enemy with a blast of fire. Lucius later summoned Sohra to confront Aldol's monster Bodera when it raided House Teta. Bodera was able to overpower and defeat Sohra, but both monsters ultimately perished when Sohra's carcass began to rapidly expand, resulting in a massive explosion.
Abilities
Fire breath
Sohra can emit a torrent of fire from its mouth as an offensive attack, the heat from the flames being strong to turn similarly-sized kaiju such as Vaora to ashes.
Self detonation
If killed, Sohra's body will begin to rapidly expand in size, before erupting in an explosion large enough to annihilate buildings and other kaiju such as Bodera.

Trivia
- Sohra may be inspired by the titular whale from 1962's Killer Whale, a pre-Gamera Daiei kaiju film.
