Jessica Cruz (Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong)

The Green Lantern Robo is a mecha that appears in the Monsterverse crossover comic series Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong.

After the Titans were transported to their universe, the Justice League and other superheroes of the world converged on Metropolis to battle an army of monsters and villains assembled by Lex Luthor and his Mechagodzilla, with the Green Lanterns creating their own mech to do battle with the Titans. The Green Lantern Robo would go on to battle Kong and an army of Skullcrawlers during the clash.

Name

Upon formation, the Green Lanterns called out the name of their energy construct mech, officially dubbing it the Green Lantern Robo.

Design

The Green Lantern Robo resembles traditional Japanese mecha with a bulky body and blocky limbs. It is translucent green in color with cannons on its back and the Green Lantern Corps logo on its chest. The five Green Lanterns that created it can be seen within its body, with one Lantern in each arm, one in each leg, and one in its head.

Upon its reformation in the seventh issue, it donned a large shield in place of a left arm.

Origins

The Green Lantern Robo is an energy construct created by Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner, John Stewart, Jessica Cruz, and Simon Baz of the Green Lanterns using their Green Lantern Rings. Each Lantern controlled a different part of the mech, with two controlling its legs, two controlling its arms, and one controlling its head.

Comics

Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong

After the Toyman brought assorted Titans from another universe to the DC Universe through the use of the Dreamstone, Lex Luthor amassed an army of Titans - including Scylla, Behemoth, and Tiamat - in Metropolis using his newly-reconstructed Mechagodzilla, with the monsters quickly falling under his command. The Justice League and other superheroes were quick to respond, with Green Lantern members Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner, John Stewart, Jessica Cruz, and Simon Baz joining the Bat-Mech and various other superheroes in confronting them. As the heroes engaged their foes, the five members of the Green Lantern Corps used their Green Lantern Rings to create the energy construct of a giant mech they called the Green Lantern Robo. The Green Lanterns immediately targeted Scylla with their creation, landing an uppercut on the Titan as the other superheroes battled the remaining Titans.

The reformed Green Lantern Robo with its arm shield

As the Green Lantern Robo grappled with Scylla, Kong arrived alongside Supergirl and began fighting the heroes, which the Lanterns deduced to be the work of Gorilla Grodd and his mind-control abilities. The Green Lantern Robo traded blows with Kong until Kong ripped its left arm off, which had Guy Gardner inside it. The Green Lantern Robo retaliated with its own eye beams, keeping Kong at bay to give Gardner a chance to recover. Unfortunately, Grodd caught Gardner by surprise and mercilessly killed him, distracting the other Green Lanterns and allowing Kong to smash the mech. The Green Lantern Robo then fell apart as the remaining Green Lanterns lost focus and fell to the ground, though Grodd was defeated soon after to free Kong and Supergirl from his influence.

Following the arrival of the revived Skull Devil and an army of Skullcrawlers, the Green Lanterns concluded that they had no time to mourn and were forced to continue the fight without Gardner, reconfiguring the Green Lantern Robo with a giant shield that took the place of its left arm. After the Bat-Mech was surrounded by Skullcrawlers, the Green Lantern Robo arrived to back them up, using their shield to keep the Skull Devil and other Skullcrawlers at bay. Meanwhile, Gardner's Green Lantern Ring found its way to Kong, empowering him to battle the rest of the Skullcrawlers and the Skull Devil.

The Green Lantern Robo was present as Superman arrived with Godzilla, who, alongside Kong, managed to defeat the Skull Devil for good. The mech stood alongside Godzilla and Kong as they roared in victory before disassembling in the aftermath as Superman used the Dreamstone to send the Titans back to their own universe.

Abilities

Strength

The Green Lantern Robo was able to hold its own against Scylla and the other Titans, as well as the Skull Devil. It landed repeated blows on Kong before the latter ripped its arm off.

Durability

The Green Lantern Robo was able to withstand blows from Scylla and other Titans.

Eye beams

The mech was able to fire energy beams at its eyes to keep Kong at bay, though they did not appear to harm the Titan.

Shield

After being reformed, the mech donned a shield in place of its left arm which it used to block an attack by the Skullcrawlers and the Skull Devil.

Cannons

The Green Lantern Robo had cannons on its back, which it moved to its shoulders in a firing position during its battle with the Skullcrawlers. However, they were never shown being used at any point in the fight.

Weaknesses

Kong was able to rip the Green Lantern Robo's left arm off.

The mech requires the cooperation of all the Green Lanterns working together for it to exist. After Gorilla Grodd killed Guy Gardner and after he was separated from the mech, the Green Lanterns were distracted long enough for Kong to shatter the Green Lantern Robo, causing it to disappear. The second formation of the Green Lantern Robo, however, was much more durable and lasted the duration of the battle.
