When Little found himself trapped in a ravine, he stumbled upon a mysterious flower growing in the darkness. He used his atomic breath bubbles to give the plant some extra light, helping it to bloom. The flower then revealed her true self as Erika. She healed Little's injuries from the fall and explained that she grew from a seed that came from a far off forest and, being rooted to the bottom of the pit, could only survive on what little light she had. She then wrapped Little in her vines to share what memories she had of the Bio Forest she originally came from and how it came under attack from Desghidorah long ago. When Minilla and Godzilla-kun arrived, they initially thought she was attacking Little before Minilla was able to catch on to the fact that she wasn't doing anything to harm their brother. When Minilla discovered a set of mushrooms in the ravine, they revealed themselves as a pair of Matangos that also came from the Bio Forest and proceeded to send the brothers to the island to help Erika's mother Sakuya fight Desghidorah.
