Trivia

  • Gamera vs. Phoenix was originally conceptualized as a one-hour straight-to-video release directed by Noriaki Yuasa. Daiei's plan to revive Gamera was very conservative until Shusuke Kaneko was hired. The project was scrapped as production began on Gamera the Guardian of the Universe.[2]
  • This novelization partially shares the history with previous Showa films. Humanity recognizes Showa Gamera and his history to defend them, however the relationship between Showa Gamera and the "new" Gamera was not specified.[3]
