Kamanga (カマンガ and Hanenga Kamanga) (ハネンガ are insect Hanenga)kaiju who appear alongside Kumonga in episode 9 of the 2021 animated Godzilla series, Godzilla Singular Point
Name
Kamanga's and Hanenga's Japanese names are derived from that of Kumonga, with which they share the same final two kana.
Kamanga's name likely comes from the Japanese word kama (鎌), meaning "sickle," and Hanenga's from hane (羽 or 翅), meaning "wing." Both names were trademarked by Toho on October 6, 2020.[1][2]
Design
Kumonga and Hanenga appear nearly identical to Kumonga, who itself takes after the Showa kaiju Megalon. Hanenga are distinguished only by their insectlike wings. Kamanga have a few notable differences, including scythe-like forelimbs resembling those of Gigan, a stinger tail, and spikes which run up the middle of their carapace. One Kamanga was also shown with wings, though it possessed Kumonga's tail rather than the stinger of its terrestrial counterpart.
