Vietnam, officially known as the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, is a country located in the Southeast Asia.

History

Monsterverse

Kong: Skull Island

As the United States prepared to end its involvement in the Vietnam War and grants Monarch funding and military support for their expedition to Skull Island, including the pro-war Lieutenant Colonel Preston Packard. Additionally, Bill Randa and Houston Brooks travel to Saigon to recruit British mercenary James Conrad for the expedition, where anti-war photographer Mason Weaver also joins.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters

Redacted text during the end credits mentions an unknown party whose name is replaced with David Strathairn's exploring ruins in Peru, Vietnam, and Easter Island.

GAMERA -Rebirth-

While Satoru Matsuda cooked dinner in his apartment, a TV played a news broadcast mentioning two unknown creatures attacking Vietnam.

Godzilla: The Half-Century War

Thirteen years after Godzilla first appeared in Japan, the King of the Monsters turned and went much farther south than his usual territorial routs, headed straight for war-torn Vietnam. After Godzilla destroyed the North Vietnamese capital of Hanoi and continued south, the A.M.F. joined forces with the United States military to stop him before he ravaged the South Vietnamese capital of Saigon. Ota Murakami arrives at the A.M.F.'s camp just as American General Carson raged after A.M.F. Colonel Schooler advised him his plan to trap Godzilla in a bog and bomb him with B-52 Superfortresses wouldn't work.

Meanwhile, the A.M.F. set up their own anti-Godzilla weapons, the Maser Cannons, on top of a hill to be operated by Doc Randall and Kentaro Yoshihara when Godzilla arrived. Getting a hunch from Murakami, Schooler left him in charge and flew off ahead of Godzilla's path. The United States military lured Godzilla into the range of the Masers, which opened fire on him before being disturbed by a group of Viet Cong soldiers fleeing a hidden spider hole complex beneath the hill. The hill rises up, revealing Anguirus and destroying all but two of the Masers, ending the A.M.F. assault and leaving the two kaiju to fight. Though Anguirus fought well, Godzilla eventually countered his strategies and tail whipped the smaller kaiju before preparing to finish him with his atomic breath. Before he could, the United States carried out its bombing run, failing to kill either monster and giving Anguirus the opportunity to escape and ruining the A.M.F.'s chance at taking out Godzilla with the remaining Masers. After the bombing run ended, Godzilla turned around and headed back to Japan. Schooler radioed back to Murakami and announced the reason for Godzilla's sudden divergence - a Psionic Transmitter located on a downed plane.
