A prehistoric monster who suddenly awakened from under the sea in 2011, Godzilla was immediately attacked with a nuclear weapon which only served to grant him atomic powers. Godzilla terrorized the globe as other giant monsters began to appear as well. After clashing with Anguirus, Godzilla battled against King Ghidorah and humanity's own weapon, Mechagodzilla. He finally triumphed in battle against Rodan and Battra, who were under the control of the evil psychic twin girls Minette and Mallory. As time went on, Godzilla remained a constant threat, appearing in cities such as Washington, D.C. Mercenary Boxer formed an elite team specifically to hunt Godzilla and monsters like him, while humanity built a new and improved Mechagodzilla to combat him. Godzilla would turn out to be the lesser of two evils when a group of four space monsters arrived on Earth to wreak havoc. Godzilla joined forces with humanity and his fellow Earth monsters to battle the space monsters, finally defeating the powerful Keizer Ghidorah with help from Rodan. Godzilla gradually began to be seen as a force of nature, his occassional attacks much like a hurricane or earthquake. He became more active as other new monsters such as Zilla and Sanda and Gaira began emerging. The Earth soon fell victim to an alien invasion by the Cryogs and the Devonians and their armies of monsters. Godzilla stood at the front lines, defeating the Devonians' monsters and destroying their capital. However, the Cryogs struck back with monsters of their own, including an army of mass-produced Mechagodzillas and the deadly power-absorbing Trilopods. Only with the assistance of the other monsters of Earth and mankind's mecha units was Godzilla able to slay the Trilopods and their colossal queen Magita, earning him a much-deserved rest from battle.

The two powerful monsters thunderously roared before making their first moves. Godzilla charged up his atomic breath, only to be knocked down by Ghidorah’s gravity beams, however, Godzilla retaliated with a powerful blast of his atomic breath that bought him the opportunity to tackle the three-headed-dragon down. Pinning down his enemy with his foot, Godzilla blasted down at Ghidorah, but suddenly, the latter’s side heads bit down on his wrists as the middle one fired its gravity beam at him, all three heads bombarding Godzilla with electricity. Immediately afterwards, Ghidorah knocked Godzilla onto his back with his gravity beams. When it seemed Ghidorah was winning, Godzilla charged his atomic breath for an abnormal amount of time as blue electricity emitted from his dorsal plates, before Godzilla fired it upon Ghidorah. Resultantly, the attack produced an enormous black mushroom cloud, which eventually revealed Godzilla standing before a knocked out King Ghidorah roaring in triumph.

As the battle commenced, Godzilla charged at Mechagodzilla before being sent crashing into some nearby buildings by the latter’s Mega Buster. In retaliation, Godzilla fired his atomic breath at Mechagodzilla right at point-blank, leaving it open for him to close the distance and throw a powerful punch that knocked Mechagodzilla off its feet. Clawing at Mechagodzilla’s chest, Godzilla prepared to annihilate the robot’s head in point-blank range, before his attack was forced up into the atmosphere, which inadvertently beaconed Minette and Mallory to his location. Subsequently, Godzilla took three powerful blows from Mechagodzilla before tripping it with his tail. The two were then joined by Ghidorah, who eventually proceeded to fly over Mechagodzilla and tackled Godzilla down. After the Monster King got back on his feet, he and Ghidorah were pierced by Mechagodzilla’s shock anchors, which sent a tremendous voltage of electricity into the two monsters. After seconds of electrocuting its enemies, Mechagodzilla knocked out Godzilla and Ghidorah with its Plasma Grenade, leaving them lying unconscious. Subsequently, Minette, Mallory, and their kaiju minions landed down in front of Godzilla, the psychic twins relishing in the sight of Godzilla as his eyes suddenly opened.

After standing back up yet again, Godzilla found himself being assisted by Rodan and the Giant Monster Kill Crew against Keizer Ghidorah. After the three-headed dragon had its middle head decapitated by Rodan, who was subsequently dispatched very far away by a Destroyed Keizer blast, Keizer Ghidorah right head proceeded to bite Godzilla by the neck. In retaliation, Godzilla grabbed the left head and used it to bite off the right head, before expunging a blast of his atomic breath that severely harmed and knocked Keizer Ghidorah to the ground. Subsequently, Godzilla finished off the remaining head with a powerful stomp, ending with a KRNCHH. Godzilla fiercely roared in triumph before beginning to return to the ocean. However, Boxer, still driven by revenge, had Harrison fly close to Godzilla. The Monster King was unfazed by the subsequent blast from the Skullsplitter, which Boxer reasoned to be due to his thick hide. Thus, Boxer proceeded to jump out of the helicopter with the Skullsplitter in his possession, screaming "Open wide, you bolllllllix!" as he fell into Godzilla’s roaring mouth. Godzilla stood in place as the Skullsplitter failed to harm him and Boxer’s fate was deemed death. Seven days later, Godzilla had returned to the sea.

In the Pacific Ocean, an Earth Defense Force submarine picked up an enormous lifeform on its sonar. Though the mysterious creature was deemed too fast and thin to be Godzilla, the Monster King himself was strolling along the ocean floor at the time. More TBA
In the Pacific Ocean, a submarine picked up an enormous lifeform on its sonar, and the captain of the vessel inquired if it was Godzilla. Though the mysterious creature was deemed too fast and thin to be Godzilla, the Monster King himself was peacefully strolling along the ocean floor at the time of the creature's detection. Godzilla himself finally made an appearance in Honolulu, where the monster detected by the CKR earlier, Zilla, had made landfall and went on a rampage. Godzilla made his presence known when he blasted his atomic breath at the monster, only for his attack to be dodged. Subsequently, Godzilla roared as he approached Zilla with the intent of confronting him.

In the city of Honolulu, Godzilla and Zilla closed the distance between each other before thunderously roaring, marking the start of their fight. After a quick series of both successful and unsuccessful blows inflicted between the two monsters, Godzilla grabbed Zilla's tail in his mouth before throwing his opponent over a great distance and firing his atomic breath to finish the fight. Godzilla roared in triumph before he sensed something off regarding his enemy, discovering that Zilla burrowed down underground before he could be killed. Mere moments later, Zilla erupted from the ground and swiftly rammed Godzilla. In retaliation, the King of the Monsters clamped down on Zilla's neck, only to release his opponent when he was struck in the neck by a missile barrage. The fight continued on as Godzilla slammed his tail down on Zilla, who proceeded to burrow away the earth directly beneath his feet, causing him to fall below. As Zilla fled from the CKR's forces, Godzilla suddenly blasted his atomic breath right behind him, grabbing his attention. Zilla looked back to find Godzilla absent from the hole that he created, searching around for the Monster King, but to no avail. Suddenly, the building behind Zilla crumbled as Godzilla burst through it, grasping and holding his foe by the neck as he prepared to finish off him off with his atomic breath. Zilla would soon escape however as he dodged another barrage of missiles, causing Godzilla to be struck instead and inadvertently release him. Subsequently, Godzilla thunderously roared as the battle ceased and the CKR diverted its efforts to cleaning up the ruined remnants of the city, thus made his return to the depths of the Pacific Ocean.

An hour after collapsing on the beaches in Malibu, California, Godzilla opened an eye and bared witness as a news cameraman was pounced on and killed by a juvenile-form Destoroyah. Godzilla was swarmed by the crustacean colony as he got back to his feet before unleashing a nuclear pulse that killed many of the creatures, while others fled back into the ocean. Godzilla was then faced with his enemy in his perfect form, who proceeded to blast him with his purple mouth beam. Godzilla soon retaliated and engaged his enemy, though he was swiftly overpowered before Destoroyah proceeded to pursue the CKR's aerial forces. Godzilla disappeared into the ocean off-panel as Mothra joined the battle and engaged Destoroyah, though she too was swiftly overpowered. Godzilla suddenly rejoined the fight as he blasted Destoroyah with his atomic breath and emerged from the sea with a nuclear reactor in his possession. The battle ensued with the duo swiftly tag-teaming and overpowering Destoroyah. In the heat of the battle, Destoroyah struck down Mothra with his horn, taking her out of the fight entirely. Godzilla responded with his own critical attacks, tearing off his enemy's horn before firing a particularly powerful blast of his atomic breath at the crustacean monster. Subsequently, Mothra's offspring restrained Destoroyah with their silk, causing him to revert into his juvenile forms, most of which were set ablaze by Godzilla. With Destoroyah defeated, one of the larvae took an interest in Godzilla's tail and attempted to grab a hold of it, only to receive a glare from the King of the Monsters. Godzilla roared in acknowledgement before returning to the ocean, the larvae carrying their mother as the three of them followed.

Godzilla arrived in Las Vegas, Nevada to confront the recently upgraded Gigan. Godzilla unleashed his atomic breath on Gigan but the cyborg entangles Godzilla with his grappling hooks at, dragging him across the ground and holding him down for the UFO to absorb Godzilla's energy. Nearby, Steven Woods asks for confirmation on who the "one that looks like a biker with machetes" was and Chavez says HQ calls it Gigan. Chavez states that it's the same creature from last time. Woods contacts HQ and tells them that if Gigan finishes Godzilla off, they won't last very long. When he asks when the new mech will arrive, MOGUERA appears and engages Gigan, firing its Spiral Grenade Missiles at him. However, Gigan easily destroys the missiles and tries hitting MOGUERA with his scythes. MOGUERA blocks the attack with its hands and drills into Gigan's left wing before slamming into him and shooting its Plasma Laser Cannons at the cyborg. After Gigan smacks MOGUERA upside the head, the robot tackles the cyborg into a pile of rubble. Woods checks on MOGUERA's pilots as the robot and dodges an attack by Gigan, his attack instead hitting the Millennian ship as it's still absorbing Godzilla's DNA. The attack causes a massive explosion and sends the monsters flying back as Orga emerges.

Orga closes in on Godzilla, but MOGUERA attacks and punches a hole through the alien's skin. Orga grabs MOGUERA with its massive hand and heals the bloody injury in a matter of seconds, Orga then rips MOGUERA into half. Godzilla approaches Orga and fires his atomic breath, but Gigan wraps around Godzilla's neck with his cables and fires razor discs at him. Godzilla pulls back, causing the discs to cut the cables. Godzilla grabs the cables and slams Gigan against Orga. Orga grabs Gigan and tries to eat him, much to the Cryogs' horror. Gigan stabs Orga through the roof of his mouth and uses his buzzsaw to sever his fingers, causing the alien to release him as he begins to regenerate. As Orga fully heals his injuries, the Star Falcon arrives and begins shooting at him and Gigan. Land Moguera surfaces from the ground and diverts Orga's attention, dodging one of his Shoulder Cannon beams. With Orga distracted, Godzilla begins dragging Gigan by his tail. Professor Allison contacts Woods and tells him that something else is inbound to their position, something that the scientist had kept secret and that "nobody believed it". The new robot arrives, catching everyone by surprise. Woods asks Allison what it is and the scientist tells him that it's complicated, but luckily for them, "he's on our side." Those that knew of this new creation call him Jet Jaguar. The new robot dodges Orga's fist and flies into the alien's mouth in his human size. Once inside his chest, Jet Jaguar changes size and becomes gigantic, causing Orga's body to explode.

In the aftermath of battle against Gigan and Orga in Las Vegas Jet Jaguar is currently staring down Godzilla.  Godzilla fires an atomic blast at Jet Jaguar, but Jet Jaguar dodges it and the two turn their attention to Gigan. Jet Jaguar and Godzilla fight the cyborg together, with the King of Monsters knocking him down with his tail. They stomp on Gigan while he's down and Godzilla rips the tip of his tail off as Jet Jaguar kicks him into a building. As Godzilla continues attacking Gigan, Jet Jaguar notices Orga beginning to regenerate and stomps on his remains. Gigan blasts Godzilla with his laser eye and cuts into his neck with his scythes. Gigan prepares to finish off Godzilla when Star Falcon shoots at at his back, distracting him. A Cryog containment vessel shoots Jet Jaguar down with its cannon, incapacitating the robot. The ship proceeds to retrieve Orga's organic material along with Woods and Chavez before before flying away. The vessel distracts Godzilla, allowing Gigan to stab Godzilla's foot with his scythe. Godzilla retaliates with two blasts of his his atomic breath, forcing the cyborg to retreat. Godzilla proceeds to destroy the surrounding city before Jet Jaguar steps in front of him and tries to calm him down. However, Godzilla blasts the robot with another shot of his atomic breath before slamming him down with his tail. Jet Jaguar retaliates by punching Godzilla in the face, knocking him unconscious. The robot grabs the King of Monsters by the tail and flies to the middle of the ocean before dropping him into the water

After the battle with Orga and Gigan Godzilla arrives on the shore of Monster Island and fights Biollante. A Cyorg containment vessel is launched and escapes as Godzilla fires his atomic breath at Biollante's tendrils, causing her to drop the ship as it crashes and explodes on the island, killing almost everyone on board. Meanwhile, Jet Jaguar takes the two soldiers to a nearby aircraft carrier before Woods tells the captain that he needs to get on a secure line. When asked about the robot, he merely replies that "he's with us" as the containment vessel flies off into space. As Jet Jaguar falls to his knees, the captain tells his men to get the robot below deck. When the captain asks Woods what happened back there, the soldier replies that he doesn't know, but he thinks they "ruined someone's party". Back on the island, Godzilla emerges from the wreckage as he steps on Rhizon, seemingly killing him. He's suddenly surrounded by Biollante's tendrils as they wrap around and bite down on his neck before her full body emerges from underground. Biollante lifts Godzilla up and slams him down before tossing him away. Her tendrils bite down on the back of Godzilla's neck and the King of Monsters retaliates with a nuclear pulse, destroying them. Godzilla roars at Biollante only for the larger monster to slam Godzilla into the side of the island's volcano. She pulls Godzilla back towards her and fires her corrosive sap at him. Godzilla retaliates with a blast of his atomic breath before firing at the island's volcano, causing it to erupt. The lava flow that follows burns Biollante alive as Godzilla finishes her off by blasting at the plant monster's chest, engulfing her in flames.

In the Pacific Ocean, the fleet transporting Lucy Casprell, Professor Kenji Ando, and the other megazoologists is attacked by Titanosaurus, Gezora, and Manda, who are under the control of the Devonians. Godzilla, victorious after his battle with Biollante, swims to the area and attacks Manda, with the sea serpent retaliating by constricting him with his coils. Godzilla flings Manda's head into a nearby battleship and then into Gezora. Gezora and Manda use their tentacles and coils respectively to restrain Godzilla's arms, but the King of Monsters blasts them away with his atomic breath, forcing them to retreat. Titanosaurus follows suit after being blasted as well. Godzilla and the other sea monsters swim away.

Near the Coral Sea in the Pacific Ocean, a sperm whale is seen diving into the water as it spots Godzilla, who attempts to hunt it. The whale gets away and the King of the Monsters, tired from pursuing Titanosaurus, Gezora, and Manda and losing their trail, decides to rest for a bit. However, he notices Sanda at the surface, who's been adrift for days trying to follow his brother Gaira and has weakened due the strong ocean currents. The two Gargantuas have since arrived in Brisbane, Australia with Godzilla in hot pursuit.

Gaira comes ashore and is fired on by the military. Sanda, not wanting Gaira to retaliate and hurt the humans, tries to push the tanks aside. Sanda is abruptly tackled by Gaira, barely avoiding a blast of atomic breath. As the Gargantuas turn around, they witness Godzilla rise from the ocean. As Gaira helps Sanda to his feet, the military fires at Godzilla but are quickly dispatched by his atomic breath. Woods contacts command and states that if the ADF can keep Godzilla busy, they'll take care of the Gargantuas. He briefs his team on the situation and tells Lucy that they'll need a hand in keeping the Gargantuas away from Godzilla. Lucy acknowledges this as Woods tells the rest of the team to get ready. As the Gargantuas move further inland, the military opens fire on them. Gaira retaliates by smashing a tank, and Sanda desperately tries to stop him. Gaira punches Sanda aside, but before Sanda can fight back, Godzilla appears behind them both. The Gargantuas dodge a blast of atomic breath before Gaira bites into Godzilla's arm. When the larger monster punches Gaira in the face, Sanda responds in kind and the two tackle him into a building. Gaira again bites into Godzilla's arm as the King of Monsters prepares another blast. However, before he can fire it, Sanda and Gaira punch and slash at Godzilla's face respectively, with the latter opening a large gash on his cheek. Godzilla throws Sanda into a building before stomping Gaira into the ground. As Gaira tries to prevent Godzilla from stomping him again, Woods exclaims that the King of Monsters will kill the two if he keeps up the attack. Lucy suggests firing the sonic guns all at once to make Godzilla leave. Woods reluctantly agrees and orders for his team to open fire. The sonic blast distracts him long enough for Sanda to topple a skyscraper onto him as the brown Gargantua dodges another atomic breath blast. Godzilla breaks free and knocks Gaira aside with his tail. Woods's team fires their sonic blasters at Godzilla again while Sanda grabs an oil truck and slams it into the King of Monsters, blinding him and lighting his face on fire. As Sanda checks up on Gaira, Godzilla finally heads into the ocean and puts out the fire on his face.

A submarine near the Monster Islands locates Godzilla, who's floating underwater as if waiting for something.

Back in the Pacific Ocean, near the Monster Islands, Godzilla wakes up as multiple signatures are detected by the nearby subs. The chief says that they need to alert the fleet and asks where they're coming from, to which the radar technician says that they seem to be "rising from down below." Godzilla finds himself under attack by Manda and Gezora, who use their coils and tentacles, respectively, to restrain him as Destoroyah gores him with his horn, opening a massive gash in his midsection. Godzilla blasts Gezora off of him with his atomic breath and slams Manda into Destoroyah with his tail, only to get punched in the face by Titanosaurus. Godzilla bites into the aquatic dinosaur's neck while Manda responds in kind. The King of Monsters throws Titanosaurus into Destoroyah before blasting Manda with his atomic breath. The submarines' sonic guns fire on the monsters, forcing Manda, Gezora, and Titanosaurus to retreat as Godzilla grabs onto the aquatic dinosaur's ankle and follows him.

Meanwhile, thousands of feet below the surface, the submarine captain orders for CKR San Diego to be notified that they were right about the Devonian city, as there's something akin to an uncharted canyon in the vicinity and Godzilla, Titanosaurus, Manda, and Gezora are heading right towards it. Manda bites Godzilla's arm, only to be grabbed by the throat and strangled by the King of Monsters. The Devonian king is informed that the monsters are closing in fast and is asked what they should do. The king states that Destoroyah must kill the humans at the surface while they destroy Godzilla. As the king orders for his forces to be rallied, Godzilla blasts Gezora with his atomic breath, causing the city's roof to leak. The Devonian king demands for the Cryog ship to be activated and sent to the surface to destroy the humans, only to be told that there's no time as Godzilla continues slamming Titanosaurus to the ocean floor while holding Manda by the throat. Titanosaurus tries to fight back only to be stomped on by Godzilla, which causes them to land in the Devonians' capital city. With the Devonian ships destroyed, the survivors try to escape to the surface on the Cryog ship.

Dr. Allison tells Chavez that a strike is being launched on Godzilla's location, as the suits feel like the situation is too favorable to pass up. He explains that the nukes won't harm Godzilla, but it might do so for the other kaiju. The plan is to drop the whole canyon on the monsters, burying them alive despite Allison's protests.

Meanwhile, Godzilla socks Titanosaurus in the face before biting into Manda's neck, blasting his atomic breath with the serpent still in his jaws. Titanosaurus retaliates with his own flurry of punches, only for Godzilla to catch one and break the dinosaur's arm. As he prepares to finish his rivals off, Godzilla notices the Cryog ship behind him trying to escape to the surface and proceeds to destroy it with his atomic breath, killing the remaining Devonians. The submarines stop firing their sonic weapons fire and fire all warheads at Godzilla as Manda and Titanosaurus retreat. Jet Jaguar tries to stop them, but he's too late and the explosions bury Godzilla.

At the bottom of the ocean, Godzilla's dorsal fins are shown poking through the debris that buried him underwater.

Lucy tries to escape, but the King of Monsters chases her down and blasts her with his atomic breath. Suddenly, Lucy jolts awake in her bedroom as it's revealed that the attack was only a nightmare. She checks what time it is and laments that the "mid-watches are killing her". Working all night until the sun rises, trying to sleep, and hoping everything stays calm on the Monster Islands. In Boston, Godzilla finds himself surrounded by multiple Mechagodzilla units, to which the King of the Monsters roars at in defiance. The Mechagodzilla fire their Finger Missiles at him, which hit Godzilla's dorsal spines. Godzilla responds by hitting one of the robots with his tail while another blasts Godzilla's face and neck with another missile salvo. Godzilla attempts to fire his atomic breath, but another Mechagodzilla smacks him in the face, causing the beam to miss. Godzilla bites the Mechagodzillas' hand, but the robot retaliates by firing its missiles into his mouth, causing the King of the Monsters to crash into several buildings. As the Mechagodzillas blast him with another salvo, "Dyachenko" orders for his units to soften him up before telling U.S. Senator Payne that while Godzilla will only be the first monster to be killed, he wants to see the beast suffer with his own eyes as he has a personal vendetta against him. Payne asks him why he doesn't just kill Godzilla in Boston before reminding the warmonger that Godzilla belongs to them, and that the U.S. will pay billions in exchange for his Mechagodzillas to kill him. However, before he can protest any further, Payne is knocked unconscious by Minette and Mallory as the Cryog Rhizon, now shedding his human disguise, explains that he wants to bring Godzilla to his location when he dies, so that when the monster draws his last breath, the Cryog can "spit it back at him".

Back in Boston, the four remaining Mechagodzilla units activate their Defense Neo Barriers against Godzilla. The monster tries to repel them with his atomic breath, but the attack has no effect on them. They surround Godzilla and begin to overwhelm him when the force fields come into contact with the King of the Monsters, burning his sides. However, Godzilla manages to force them off of him with a nuclear pulse, destroying the force fields. Godzilla proceeds to stomp one Mechagodzilla's face in the ground before destroying it with his atomic breath and ripping off one of its arms to smack another unit with. One Mechagodzilla fires its Space Beams against Godzilla's atomic breath, resulting in a beam clash where the King of the Monsters emerges victorious. Godzilla turns his attention to the second Mechagodzilla and puts it in a bear hug before destroying it with his atomic breath. As the last two Mechagodzilla units get up, one of them headless, Godzilla tries blasting one of them with another shot of his atomic breath, but is quickly stopped when the non-headless Mechagodzilla blasts him with its Space Beam. Godzilla retaliates by throwing the headless Mechagodzilla into it and slamming the both of them repeatedly with his tail, destroying them. Godzilla roars in victory before being blasted by an unknown monster, knocking him to the ground before restraining him with cables and a machine hand and lifting him up in the air. Meanwhile, Allie helps Woods to his feet as the former soldier notes that they need to help anyone else nearby and that since things have quieted down, the fight appears to be over. A civilian asks if they're OK before requesting a phone to borrow, which the pair reply that theirs isn't working telling him that they're heading west out of the city. The civilian explains that everything towards the harbor is destroyed from the battle and that there's no phone signal. Woods notes that "something's not right", to which the civilian asks if the monster carrying Godzilla has anything to do with it. Allie asks if that's what she thinks she is, to which Woods replies that he isn't sure as "it is but it isn't", and it's revealed what exactly is carrying Godzilla: Mecha-King Ghidorah.

In Russia, Godzilla tries to break free from Mecha-King Ghidorah's machine hand, only to be blasted by a Gravity Beam to the head. Rhizon tells the controlling twins to soften Godzilla up, but not to kill him. The cybernetic dragon drops Godzilla directly onto the facility. The Spetsnaz leader asks what that sound could be, to which Lucy and Kristina reply that it could be Godzilla. The leader tells the CKR team to wait under guard with Kiryu as they investigate. Chavez tells the leader that if they have a monster problem, they'll need his team's help. The Spetsnaz tells them to worry about Anguirus before they come across a badly damaged Kiryu with Anguirus walking off in the distance. As the Spetsnaz is baffled on how Anguirus could escape, Chavez tells him that they'll get a lift home before advising him to "stay out of Anguirus's way". As a massive explosion is seen in the facility, the Spetsnaz leader tells the CKR team to stay where they are as they investigate the battle. Meanwhile, Rhizon chastises the twins for not waiting until he could watch Godzilla's death, but they tell him that they're either losing control of Mecha-King Ghidorah or that they never had control to begin with.

Mecha-King Ghidorah stomps on Godzilla's neck before kicking him towards the pair of Mechagodzillas, who bring him back to his feet as he's blasted by the dragon's Gravity Beams. Godzilla retaliates by slamming one of the Mechagodzillas into Mecha-King Ghidorah with his tail. The King of Monsters bites into Mecha-King Ghidorah's mechanical head as he tackles the cyborg to the ground. Before Godzilla can finish the cyborg with his atomic breath, however, one of the Mechagodzillas smacks him in the face and holds him down, allowing Mecha-King Ghidorah to bite into his neck, arm, and leg before throwing him to the ground. Godzilla fires his atomic breath at the dragon but misses and hits one of the antennas, causing the twins to bleed from their eyes and compromising their control of the dragon. Rhizon demands them to get back to work before Godzilla destroys the remaining control antennas, rendering the twins unconscious. Mecha-King Ghidorah, now free of the twins' control, smacks Godzilla to the ground before unleashing its Gravity Beams on the surrounding area. Suddenly, Anguirus arrives and, after acknowledging Godzilla, pounces on one of the Mechagodzillas and destroys it. The King of the Monsters lands a hit on Mecha-King Ghidorah's wing with his atomic breath, damaging it. As the cybernetic dragon takes flight, Godzilla dodges the remaining Mechagodzilla's Finger Missiles before slamming him into Mecha-King Ghidorah with his tail, knocking the cyborg out of the sky. Godzilla then proceeds to grab Anguirus by the tail and uses him as a club to bludgeon Mecha-King Ghidorah. The cyborg tries to grab Godzilla with its mechanical hands, only for the King of Monsters to trick the cyborg into grabbing the remaining Mechagodzilla as it flies off. Rhizon laments this defeat as he's notified that armored human forces are approaching from the east. Rhizon orders for an evacuation as they'll rendezvous in space. When asked what to do with the twins, Rhizon tells his subordinate to leave them as they are of no more use to him. As Rhizon orders for his forces to get far from this planet, Godzilla destroys the remaining Mechagodzilla with his atomic breath as the damaged Mecha-King Ghidorah retreats into space. Godzilla and Anguirus both roar victoriously before the former destroys the facility once and for all.

The Spetsnaz soldiers that found the CKR team escort representatives from various countries, including US Senator Payne, as the leader states that the monsters are heading north and that Chavez's team will be allowed to leave after they figure out what's going on. However, they have no idea who the twins Minette and Mallory as they bring back their unconscious bodies from the facility. Chavez tells the leader that he's seen them before and warns him about the Cryogs and the ship they saw alongside the Mechagodzillas, explaining that they can change their appearances at will. When the Spetsnaz leader gets suspicious, Chavez tells him that he can vouch for his team as they're all clean aside from the representatives. When Lucy joins the twins' hands together, she is struck with a terrifying psychic vision involved a Cryog fleet, Godzilla, King Caesar, twin Mothra Larvae, a pair of mysterious bladed arms, and a completely destroyed city. Godzilla and Ebirah engage in a fight. Godzilla grabs Ebirah by its giant pincer and throws the lobster into the city. Lucy and her friends try to escape while the two giant monsters fight. However, the fight is interrupted as Ebirah is briefly swarmed by Meganulon, who pierce through his carapace with their pincers. Ebirah retaliates by cleaving through several Meganulon with his giant pincer. Lucy and her friends try to head to a nearby building for safety, only for Godzilla to stomp it to the ground. Jason spots a car and the trio get clear of the battleground before Godzilla blasts the lobster with his atomic breath. Jason laments the loss of his camera before asking if anyone has a map they can use. Kristina apologizes, but Jason quickly forgives her before commenting that he wanted to document the new creatures. A saddened Lucy tells them that the lobster's name is Ebirah. A shadow flies over their car as Jason asks Lucy if she knows that that creature's name is. Lucy replies with a new name: Megaguirus.

Megaguirus enters the battlefield while Godzilla is busy biting Ebirah's pincer. Godzilla pushes the lobster aside before firing his atomic breath at Megaguirus. However, Megaguirus easily dodges the blast and turns her attention to Ebirah, using her tail stinger to impale the crustacean. Ebirah screeches in pain before Godzilla whacks at the giant insect with his tail before firing another blast at her. The dragonfly outmaneuvers the beam and lures Godzilla further inland as Ebirah retreats back into the ocean. Kristina states that they need to contact the CKR command center about the new Kaiju before asking Lucy to confirm their names. Lucy does so and explains what the Shobijin told her about the monsters joining forces to restore the natural balance and save the planet from an outside force before Kristina asks why they're only appearing now after all that's happened over the years. Lucy suggests that the outside force may have returned before Jason stops an army truck and asks if they can use their equipment to contact command.

Meanwhile, Godzilla searches for Megaguirus deep within the city as his new opponent maneuvers through the tall skyscrapers to set up for an ambush. Megaguirus tries to attack Godzilla from behind, but the King of the Monsters anticipates this and uses his nuclear pulse to smash the dragonfly into a building. As Godzilla roars, however, Megaguirus uses her tail stinger to impale his leg and drag him into another building. She absorbs his nuclear energy from the blood on her stinger and fires a massive nuclear fireball at Godzilla, knocking him unconscious and allowing the dragonfly to carry the King of Monsters into the sky and headed to the northeast. Meanwhile, as Kristina comforts a crying Lucy, Jason explains to Steven Woods about the new monsters and tells him that they'll be heading into the city to find out what the Meganulon are before reporting that Megaguirus took Godzilla northeast. Woods, who's currently stationed in the CKR command center on the Monster Islands, tells Jason that they're moving the satellites to keep an eye on their movements and might send MOGUERA or Kiryu down there in case they return to their position. When asked about Ebirah's whereabouts, Jason tells him that he went out to sea since it probably knew it would die if it stayed on land. Woods tells him to help out with the recovery effort and to keep an eye on Lucy and Kristina. As Woods ends the call, Chavez shows him a massive hole in the rainforest big enough to "hide a monster". Woods orders his men to move out before another operative reports that a perimeter buoy is tracking incoming signals from the north. Woods asks if a drone can fly in to get a better look. When the operative does so, the video feed shows the Mothra larvae, badly injured, heading right for the islands with the Shobijin in tow. Woods orders to clear a spot so the larvae can make landfall and to have countermeasures ready just in case, despite the fact that they won't need to be used. Meanwhile, back in Brazil, Megaguirus drops Godzilla into the giant hole in the rainforest. Godzilla comes to and gets back on his feet, only to be surrounded by Meganulon and Meganula with Megaguirus watching from above.

Despite their animosity towards each other, Godzilla and SpaceGodzilla realize that they need to work together to survive. They blast free from their prison using their atomic breath and Corona Beam, respectively. SpaceGodzilla uses his Corona Beam to blast the SpaceGodzilla-Trilopod, but the doppelgänger retaliates by forming a giant crystal between the two. However, before either of them could make another move, Godzilla blasts the Trilopod with a continued blast of his atomic breath, killing it in a massive explosion. Exhausted, Godzilla collapses onto the ground. SpaceGodzilla kicks his counterpart onto his back and prepares to finish him off with one last blast of his Corona Beam. However, he spots the Trilopod hive and, after roaring in Godzilla's face, takes on his flying form and retreats into space. The hive lands next to Godzilla as a squadron of fighter jets arrive and witness it touch down onto the ground. Meanwhile, in Japan, Woods, Chavez, and the Shobijin meet up with Ando and Yumi Nagata. Woods asks if they've found Jet Jaguar yet to assist them in the battle at Los Angeles, but Nagata tells them that he's lost deeper in the ocean than any salvage vehicles can go. Woods apologizes and assures her that she'll find him someday before asking about the "king" the Shobijin described. Ando explains that it's King Caesar, Earth's first protector from thousands of years ago, and that he's located in Okinawa. The Shobijin tell him that they need to wake up King Caesar if they want to help Godzilla and the other monsters, but Ando asks if he even wants to help at all or if Godzilla will turn against him. Nagata tells him that Godzilla will need all the help he can get and that they should at least try since they're simply out of options. Woods offers his Seeker Squad to go with Lucy Casprell and the Shobijin, but the twins state that the soldiers might anger the monster despite his intentions of defending the Earth. Woods retorts that they're taking a big risk by splitting up and he can't urge them enough to stay safe, so he orders them to take his men. Suddenly, someone over the intercom tells Dr. Nagata to turn on the television as she'll need to see what's happening. As the Godzilla-Trilopods have Godzilla at their mercy, Cryog Emperor Karkaro tells Commander Rhizon that both their deaths wait for his command. But before Rhizon pays for his treason, he will watch his plans of conquest suffer and die. Rhizon asks Karkaro if he thinks there's another monster out there that could destroy the Trilopods and the planet if he chooses. Karkaro assures him that nothing on Earth is capable of such a thing, before Rhizon reminds them of what happened to their planet under his watch. Their world was both beautiful and harsh, with only the strong surviving. Karkaro had watched over them until one day when King Ghidorah arrived and destroyed it all. As the three-headed dragon destroyed the Cryog civilization, Karkaro fled into space as he left his people to die. However, some survived and rallied behind Rhizon. The commander calls Karkaro a coward for abandoning them, to which the angered emperor backhands him. Karkaro orders for his imprisonment, as Rhizon will not die until he gives the command. An underling reports that the Hunting Pods are returning, to which Karkaro orders for the Earth's monsters to be stored in the Hive, the hybrids to be released, and the fleet to remain in orbit so they won't get caught in the middle. He declares that it's time to turn Earth to ash. Later a Godzilla-Trilopod looks on as Godzilla comes to and blasts his atomic breath at it. They face each other and Godzilla slams into the impostor with his tail, killing it.

In the ruins of Los Angeles, Godzilla finds himself surrounded by Trilopods<nowiki/>bearing the characteristics of himself, Anguirus, Titanosaurus, Baragon, Kumonga, Rodan, Varan, Gaira, Sanda, Kamoebas, Gorosaurus, and Gezora. Godzilla briefly attempts to communicate with the Anguirus-Trilopod, but the doppelgänger fails to comply and bites into his leg as the Gorosaurus-Trilopod kangaroo kicks him into a building. As Godzilla gets back up to battle the Trilopods, Cryog Emperor Karkaro tells his former commander Rhizon that the King of the Monsters is no match for the creatures and that he'll allow his former subordinate to live long enough to see him die. An underling tells him that a massive human force is closing in, to which the Emperor assures him that the Trilopods will handle them. The underling tells him that it's a large force including two massive signals. The Emperor asks if they jettisoned the hybrid from the last Hunting Pod to arrive yet, to which the underling explains that while it's landed, there's a problem. As Karkaro asks what problem, King Caesar rips a Beta Trilopod in half before climbing down the Hive.

The King of the Monsters is brought back to his feet by the Baragon- and Varan-Trilopods, only to be slammed back down from behind by the Rodan-Trilopod. However, a massive fighter squadron fire their payload onto the Trilopods surrounding him, allowing MOGUERA and Kiryu to land and assist the King of the Monsters. They fire their respective energy beams at the Trilopods, to which the creatures retaliate with the Baragon-Trilopod blasting Kiryu with its fire breath, only to be frozen by the mecha's Absolute Zero Cannon and smashed to smithereens. However, it's brought down by the Rodan-Trilopod, while MOGUERA is blown down by the Titanosaurus-Trilopod's tail fin. The Gaira- and Sanda-Trilopods try to pounce on Godzilla, only for the former to get kicked away and blasted by his atomic breath. MOGUERA blasts the Titanosaurus-Trilopod with its Plasma Laser and Plasma Maser Cannons before Woods orders for the jets to circle around again and assist the mechas. However, the squadron has multiple targets inbound and they're circling to engage them. He asks Seeker Two what's his status, to which he replies that they're trying to get a line of sight with one of the Godzilla-Trilopods as it blasts Jet Jaguar into a building with its atomic breath. As the Trilopod closes in, Zilla rushes in and slits the creature's throat with his dorsal fins while Jet Jaguar restrains it. As Zilla mauls the Trilopod with his teeth and claws, Jet Jaguar flies off to engage the Cryog fleet in Earth's atmosphere.

Back in Los Angeles, Godzilla, Kiryu, and MOGUERA continue to battle the Trilopods. The Gorosaurus-Trilopod tries to bite Godzilla, but the King of the Monsters ducks under the attack and responds by punching it in the face. However, a Titanosaurus-Trilopod grabs a Kamoebas-Trilopod by the neck with its jaws and throws it at Godzilla, only for him to blast it with his atomic breath. As Godzilla looks on, the Titanosaurus- and Kumonga-Trilopods tear MOGUERA apart while the Varan- and Sanda-Trilopods destroy Kiryu by ripping its head off. As he finds himself surrounded, Godzilla roars at the top of his lungs to the point where Jet Jaguar, Gigan, and the kaiju in the Hive can hear it. Chavez notes that he roared louder than ever before, to which Woods speculates that he might have had enough or he was calling for help. The latter is confirmed when King Caesar leads the other kaiju out of the hive and onto the battlefield. Woods tells Lucy to stay put, as his team found a way into the hive thanks to the kaiju and they're coming to get her and her friends. As Jet Jaguar attacks the Cryog ships in the atmosphere, an underling tries to report on the monsters' escape to Karkaro before being told to step away from the console by Rhizon. Karkaro defiantly states that he won't get away with this, but Rhizon tells him to look at what awaits them all. Karkaro has brought all the world's strongest creatures together and now they're free. The Trilopods are losing, and now they've attracted the attention of both Gigan and Jet Jaguar. Once again, the Cryogs are doomed because of Karkaro. The Emperor asks Rhizon if he thinks he brought the monsters here to fight before telling him that the Trilopods would've just killed them if they could. He tells him that they were food meant for another monster: Magita. Karkaro forces Rhizon to push a button, causing the flagship to bombard the hive with its laser cannons and destroy it to free Magita. As Jet Jaguar engages Gigan and Earth's monsters battle the Trilopods, Lucy and her friends try to escape through a pore with an injured Woods lagging behind. Before the pore can close, Woods pushes Lucy out before being seemingly crushed by one of Magita's claws.

Meanwhile, the battle against the Trilopods is going well for the kaiju as Rodan flies over several of the hybrids, knocking them off balance. Godzilla slams into the Sanda-Trilopod with his tail, while Titanosaurus and his doppelgänger trade blows with their tail fins. Baragon burns the Kumonga-Trilopod to a crisp, while Kumonga ensnares the Anguirus-Trilopod with his webbing. The Titanosaurus-Trilopod disorients Godzilla and Varan with wind from its tail fin, only to be mauled by Zilla as King Caesar engages the Rodan-Trilopod and rips it in half. Gorosaurus bites into the Varan-Trilopod, Rodan crushes the throat of the Anguirus-Trilopod, and Gaira rips a tentacle off of the Gezora-Trilopod as Anguirus curls into a ball and slams into it. The remaining Trilopods are slaughtered by the kaiju, only for Godzilla to notice Magita emerging from the remains of the hive. Magita bats King Caesar aside as Kumonga fires at it with his webbing and Anguirus bounces off its head. Varan and Zilla attack one of its feet, but are easily kicked away as Godzilla fires his atomic breath at it and Rodan slams into it. Meanwhile, Gigan and Jet Jaguar continue their battle on top of the Cryog ship. Jet Jaguar uppercuts Gigan, only for the cyborg to cut into the robot's leg and midsection with his chainsaws. Gigan tries to attack Jet Jaguar with his chainsaws, but his attack is redirected into the hull of the Cryog ship, killing the crew and causing it to fall out of the sky. Jet Jaguar restrains Gigan as Rhizon tells Karkaro that he lost both their home world and what was to be their new one before stating that he never deserved to grow the crown around his neck. Karkaro assures Rhizon that there's no escape and that Magita will win. Rhizon responds by telling him that there's no victory here and, should he wish to continue fighting, to wait for him, as he'll be seeing him soon before throwing his former Emperor into Gigan's chainsaws, killing him. The Cryog ship crashes into Magita, killing Rhizon, as the explosion throws the Earth's monsters into the air. With his allies incapacitated, Godzilla absorbs their energy and blasts Magita with a red Hyper Spiral Ray. As Lucy and her friends look on, the young woman feels that Godzilla is stronger than ever before, asking the others if they feel the same thing. Chavez tells her that they don't feel anything and that they're lucky to survive what just happened. However, they still need to find Woods. The Shobijin say that they can feel it too and explain that Godzilla needs the energy to win, but when the energy's spent, he might not survive. Godzilla blocks one of Magita's claws before firing another shot of his Hyper Spiral Ray at its face. He blasts his way into the creature's mouth and emits a massive red-hued nuclear pulse inside the creature, incinerating Magita and ending the Trilopod threat once and for all.

As an exhausted Godzilla lies in the resulting crater, the other monsters come to, while Lucy and her friends find Woods within the rubble, fatally injured due to being impaled on a metal rod. Chavez tearfully and jokingly tells him to stop with the heroics and to leave some of it for him, to which the dying soldier complies before succumbing to his injuries. Godzilla trudges into the ocean with the rest of Earth's monsters following close behind him. As Lucy, Chavez, and their friends mourn Woods' death, they see Godzilla give out one last roar before heading out to sea. After Woods' funeral, Chavez takes over the CKR, with new weaponry such as a Maser Cannon<nowiki/>and the Gotengo being added to the arsenal. Jet Jaguar is seen being repaired by Dr. Yumi Nagata and Professor Kenji Ando as a news feed shows the twin Mothra larvae forming their cocoons. The kaiju scatter throughout the world, Gigan is being repaired in an unidentified location next to a Mechagodzilla, and Godzilla is seen sleeping at the bottom of the ocean.

By the time of his second battle against Mechagodzilla, the atomic breath begins to appear as a concentrated energy beam. The Atomic Breath is capable of inflicting great harm on most other monsters ans well an engulf the surrounding environment in flames or create enormous explosions. In Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters, it reduced various cities such as Nii-Jima Island, Tokyo, Yokohama, Los Angeles, and Washington DC to ruin. In his second battle against Mechagodzilla, when the robot forced his head up to divert his atomic breath, the beam instantaneously surpassed the altitude of the lower clouds. In his fight against King Ghidorah, an extensively charged up blast of his atomic breath produced a mushroom cloud akin to that of a hydrogen bomb in addition to an electromagnetic pulse that affected all human technology within close proximity. Godzilla’s atomic breath created an enormous explosion and subsequent crater after locking with Battra’s prism beams.

Godzilla brutally defeated Hedorah with multiple blasts of his atomic breath in addition to pummeling the Smog Monster, almost killing his enemy as a result. Later, Godzilla sent SpaceGodzilla into retreat by destroying his shoulder crystals and dorsal plates with his atomic breath after his clone was hit by Kiryu’s absolute zero cannon.

As seemingly unstoppable as he is, Godzilla has had blood drawn by many of his enemies. Though conventional weapons are incapable of inflicting any damage on Godzilla, they have been used to draw his attention or even steer him into traps. He can be overwhelmed when facing too many opponents, especially shown in Godzilla: Rulers of Earth when Godzilla was unable to fight the hoard of Trilopods on his own. Additionally, Godzilla has required help with defeating certain enemies, such as his first fight against Destoroyah before Mothra intervened, his fight with Mecha-King Ghidorah prior to Anguirus’ assistance, and Magita prior to channeling his atomic energy into a powerful nuclear pulse.

This article covers the Godzilla that appeared in Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters, Godzilla and Godzilla: Rulers of Earth. The Godzilla incarnations featured in IDW’s various other miniseries and media are not covered in this article.

Godzilla (ゴジラ,   Gojira) is a giant monster who first appeared in IDW Publishing's comic book series Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters. The third incarnation of Godzilla to star in an ongoing American comic book series, following the Marvel and Dark Horse Godzillas, this Godzilla was also the focus of IDW's two follow-up series, Godzilla and Godzilla: Rulers of Earth.

Godzilla gradually began to be seen as a force of nature, his occasional attacks much like a hurricane or earthquake. He became more active as other new monsters such as Zilla, Sanda, and Gaira began emerging.

Name

Main article: Godzilla#Name.

Godzilla's Japanese name, Gojira (ゴジラ), comes from a combination of the Japanese approximation of "gorilla" (ゴリラ,   gorira), and kujira (クジラ), the Japanese word for "whale." In-universe, Godzilla's name is given to him by Kenji Ando along with fellow monsters Rodan and Anguirus.

Design

The design of the IDW Godzilla changes throughout his appearances. In Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters, Godzilla debuts baring a heavy resemblance to the ShodaiGoji design. Over time, Godzilla more vaguely resembles the earlier Heisei Godzilla designs. At times, the comic’s panels depict his snout being elongated. What remains unchanged in the series is his pointed dorsal fins reminiscent of the FinalGoji design. In this comic series, Godzilla has no visible pupils or irises similar to the GMKGoji design, however close ups of his face or eyes show black eyes in earlier issues and orange ones by the end of the series. Godzilla is a blend of gray and green in color, with his dorsal fins being roughly the same color as the rest of his body.

In Godzilla, Godzilla more explicitly resembles the later Heisei designs, specifically the MogeGoji design. Godzilla is considerably bulkier in this comic, with thick, powerful legs. His dorsal fins are similar to the Heisei Godzilla's, with a black center and white outline. His eyes are seemingly white with black pupils. His skin seems to be a gray and blue blend in color courtesy of the art style, however, it otherwise appears black.

In Godzilla: Rulers of Earth, Godzilla now combines aspects of the KiryuGoji and FinalGoji designs. His body, tail, ears, and face resemble that of the FinalGoji design. His head, neck, and dorsal plates resemble that of the KiryuGoji design. However, Godzilla’s final design of the continuity bares its own unique traits. He possesses scaly gray, occasionally black, skin and gold eyes. When charging his atomic breath, his dorsal plates, and eyes occasionally, glow blue. They turned orange when Godzilla utilized an abnormal nuclear pulse to obliterate Magita.

Personality

In Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters, Godzilla is a violent and destructive creature that indiscriminately lays waste to human civilization. He displayed great hostility towards other monsters and occasionally humans upon encountering them, deliberately obliterating a helpless group of humans trapped in a dangling Limousine at one point. However, during his fight with Anguirus in Los Angeles, he took notice of the renowned “HOLLYWOOD” before deliberately obliterating it with his atomic breath for unknown reasons. He continued to demonstrate horrifying malice when he fired his atomic breath upon a thick line of civilian traffic in addition to trampling everything, leaving behind a field of destruction and only one survivor.

He remains extremely aggressive throughout the majority of Godzilla, going as far as to pursue a civilian family along the coastline of California. However, he ceased his aggression and pursuit after eye contact with Mothra persuaded him to do so. It was in this comic that Godzilla began to transition from an anti-villain into an anti-hero, eventually proceeding to protect the planet from the four evil extraterrestrial monsters Gigan, Hedorah, Monster X, and his unexplained clone, SpaceGodzilla. By the end of this series, Godzilla joins forces with other monsters such as Mechagodzilla, Kumonga, and Rodan in order to defend the Earth against the invading space monsters.

In Godzilla: Rulers of Earth, Godzilla was still highly aggressive and often attacked other monsters he encountered; however, he has completely transitioned into an anti-hero of sorts by then, fending off the more malevolent creatures employed by both the Cryogs and the Devonians as well as confronting some of his fellow Earth monsters such as Zilla and Destoroyah. Also, Godzilla isn’t above allying with enemies such as SpaceGodzilla and Megaguirus once they shared a common enemy in the form of the trilopods. In fact, Godzilla unhesitatingly saved the former before teaming up with him against the SpaceGodzilla-Trilopod hybrid and the Megaguirus-Trilopod hybrid. He begins to actively fight alongside some of his fellow monsters, such as Mothra and Anguirus. When one of the Mothra larvae took an interest in his tail after defeating Destoroyah, Godzilla simply gave a glare instead of attacking it. It is by then that Godzilla and Mothra’s alliance is at its peak and most shown. By the storyline's finale, Godzilla joins forces with nearly all of Earth's other monsters, even those that were once his enemies, to defeat the Trilopods in a final confrontation in Los Angeles. Afterwards, Godzilla went back into the ocean in peace as the other monsters proceeded to follow him.

Origins

Godzilla's origins are somewhat ambiguous in the series. Presumably, Godzilla's origins are similar to most origins, being a prehistoric amphibious reptile, though his role in the balance of Earth's kaiju is brought into question as the mural on Infant Island does not feature him. Unlike most versions of Godzilla, he rampages through Japan before being mutated by a nuclear bomb strike, a reverse of the character’s usual backstory character.

History

Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters

Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters issue 1

As a sibling duo were enjoying their day at the beach on Nii-jima Island off the coast of Japan, an enormous protrusion erupted from the ground. The two kids were left shocked as the ground began to rise and reveal teeth. They soon find themselves hanging onto a pair of Godzilla’s teeth as the monster’s head burst from the sand. Subsequently, Godzilla deliberately laid waste to the nearby town before entering the ocean on a trajectory for Tokyo. Godzilla’s journey was paused when a nuclear missile from a JSDF submarine was launched at him. The resulting explosion engulfed Godzilla and left the Japanese breaking into celebration. To their horror, Godzilla is revealed to be alive and completely unharmed. Godzilla roared in rage at the sky as a blue burst of fire exited his mouth. When he reached Tokyo three hours later, Godzilla utilized his newly acquired weapon to set the surrounding area ablaze in a rampage through the city.

Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters issue 2

Godzilla eventually travels to Yokohama and does the city the same as he had done to Tokyo. At one point, Godzilla stops in front of a building as a fisherman, the vengeful father of the children from Nii-jima Island, jumped down onto the monster’s snout covered in explosive material. His attempt at harming Godzilla occurred in vain as the miniature explosion only made Godzilla scratch his snout like an itch.

Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters issue 3

Afterwards, Godzilla continued his rampage into a Korean demilitarized zone. After trampling the tower housing North Korean soldiers, Godzilla directed his rampage in a trajectory east towards the US on an intercept course with Anguirus.

Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters issue 4

Godzilla and Anguirus eventually met in Los Angeles, California, where they engaged in a long and brutal battle.

Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters issue 5

The fight ended with a triumphant Godzilla continuing East while Anguirus lied vulnerable and bleeding from his snout. Subsequently, Godzilla continued traveling east over the course of a month. At one point, Godzilla, with deliberate malice, slaughtered a long line of thick traffic via his atomic breath and trampling, leaving behind complete destruction and a sole survivor.

Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters issue 6

Godzilla soon made his presence in South Dakota, deliberately destroying Mount Rushmore. Not much time later, he was met by the global collaborated project and line of defense, a robot built in his image dubbed "Mechagodzilla". Godzilla quickly triumphed over the Mecha after firing his atomic breath at its propulsion boosters, causing it to fly away and go on a rampage in Atlanta, Georgia.

Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters issue 7

Godzilla eventually arrived in Washington, D.C., reducing the American capitol city to complete ruin off-panel. After destroying the Washington Monument, Godzilla was introduced to a new enemy, King Ghidorah.

Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters issue 8

The attack produced an enormous black mushroom cloud, which eventually revealed Godzilla standing before a knocked out King Ghidorah roaring in triumph.

Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters issue 9

Soon, Mechagodzilla closed in on Washington DC, detecting Godzilla from 20 kilometers away. Before it could retreat back to its construction plant in Detroit, Godzilla stood in front of the robot, ready to fight his mechanical doppelgänger once more.

Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters issue 10

Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters issue 11

Now awake but critically weakened, Godzilla lied as Minette and Mallory unsuccessfully commanded him to get up, but an idea suddenly came to the latter twin. Subsequently, Rodan and Battra under the twins’ command carried Godzilla to a nearby nuclear power plant before dropping him onto the cooling reactor. Battra then fired his prism beams upon Godzilla, causing a fiery explosion, from which, Godzilla stood revitalized as he looked at company with his atomic breath charging. The monster king unleashed his beam afterwards, inadvertently knocking the twins unconscious before Rodan and Battra proceeded to engage with him in battle. In little time, Godzilla swiftly overpowered the two flying monsters, leaping up before landing on them forcefully. The dark divine moth then got up and with Godzilla, beam locked their respective weapons, causing an explosion that sent both monsters flying backwards. In the resulting crater, Godzilla, Battra, and Rodan all lied covered in rubble unable to continue fighting.

Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters issue 12

Along with Rodan and Battra, Godzilla lied in a crater in the city of Washington DC, covered in debris and unable to continue fighting.

Godzilla (IDW comic)

Two years after his battle against Rodan and Battra, Godzilla roamed the area 50 miles outside of Washington DC unopposed. It is eventually shown in a flashback of Boxer’s past that he had inadvertently killed the bodyguard’s daughter during his rampage on Los Angeles. Later on, it is explained that after Godzilla’s fight with Rodan and Battra, he was buried underneath the mountains near Washington DC, only for him to free himself from them.

"Forty Stories of Sheer Terror"

Godzilla made an appearance on Washington DC, trampling its infrastructure over an incredible distance while destroying helicopters attacking him with his atomic breath. After a while, Godzilla’s attention was drawn to a group of armed citizens, whom inadvertently shot Boxer’s client, Gwen. Godzilla soon made his presence at the Capitol Building, obliterating it with his atomic breath. Afterwards, Godzilla attacked Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania while the other monsters attacked other cities around the world.

"This Time It's Personal"

On the Fourth of July, Godzilla made landfall in St. Louis, Missouri and proceeded to obliterate the surrounding buildings with his atomic breath.

"You Don't Assign Him a Giant Monster, You Just Turn Him Loose"

Godzilla made landfall on San Diego, California, where he was temporarily occupied with a nuclear submarine close by. Afterwards, he became aware of a helicopter flying far above him, though he didn’t attack it.

"The Mission is a Giant Monster"

Godzilla took his rampage into Fernando Valley, where Boxer and his crew, the Giant Monster Kill Crew, had attempted to utilize a Headache Beam on him, only for it to completely fail against him. Godzilla then proceeded to slam his tail down on an automobile that Boxer’s son, Harrison himself, attempted to hot wire. Subsequently, Godzilla was reunited with an old enemy from two years prior, MechaGodzilla. The new Mechagodzilla proceeded to fire a powerful blue beam from its chest, which knocked Godzilla onto his back. As Godzilla attempted to get up, Mechagodzilla bombarded harm on him with its arm weapons, though he had gotten back onto his feet and began to approach his enemy. Godzilla then proceeded to bite at Mechagodzilla’s neck before the latter took while holding the Monster King. After landing, Mechagodzilla fired its chest weapon, which Godzilla retaliated with his atomic breath, and the two beam locked. Godzilla proved himself more powerful as his atomic breath went through Mechagodzilla’s neck, resulting in the robot falling over in defeat. The triumphant Godzilla then continued east. Godzilla eventually found himself on the Pacific coast highway 40 miles south of Monterey Bay, pursuing a civilian car with a family in it. Suddenly, Mothra appeared before him and the family.

"They Had Nothing Left to Lose but Each Other"

Godzilla and Mothra underwent a moment of deep eye contact with each other, the latter eventually taking her leave without conflict. Subsequently, Godzilla, somehow affected by Mothra’s actions, ceased his pursuit of the family and proceeded to return to the ocean. Some time later, Godzilla made landfall in Seattle, Washington, laying waste to the city as per usual intentions. During his rampage, he was attacked by a fleet of military helicopters, though he didn’t retaliate against them.

"The Government Gave Them A Choice... Now There's No Turning Back"

27 days after his attack on Seattle, Godzilla appeared in North Vancouver, British Columbia, where he proceeded to traverse the city without hostile intentions, not even reacting to Claire Plangman firing her Headache Beam at him while mobile. Suddenly, explosives set inside the city were detonated, triggering explosions that directed Godzilla’s course to Mount Garibaldi, an enormous stratovolcano 50 miles north of the city. Unfortunately for Boxer and his crew, a private helicopter suddenly appeared and dropped a device that dispersed a cloud of human made pheromones originating from Godzilla’s DNA. This blue substance drew Godzilla into following the helicopter back into the city. There, he nearly trampled Boxer and the remnants of his crew.

"Somewhere, Somehow, Something is Going to Pay"

Godzilla continued to follow the helicopter through Vancouver, eventually winding up on the edge of the city at the docks near the ocean. There, he was entrapped in a force-field like form of containment composed of modulated panels of energy through an experimental form of black hole energy.

"The Night the Giant Monsters Came Home!"

Godzilla attempted to break free from his prison, which began to fluctuate while he hit it with his tail, allowing him to break free after a blast of his atomic breath caused the containment field to burst. Godzilla proceeded to take his leave into the Atlantic, disappearing below the surface.

"His Whole Life Was a Million-to-One Shot"

Godzilla became absent from human detection for days after leaving Vancouver. Suddenly, Godzilla appeared in Inland Empire, California, where Hedorah was on the verge of destroying Kiryu. Godzilla subsequently broke into battle with the Smog Monster, allowing Kiryu to escape and leave it up to him to defeat Hedorah. Godzilla found him tangled in Hedorah’s sludge by the lower body and one arm, which he retaliated with an atomic breath blast through Hedorah’s face.

"The War's Not Over Until the Last Monster Goes Home!"

Hedorah transformed in his flying form before carrying Godzilla in the air and fleeing after dropping the Monster King down a gorge. Godzilla quickly got back up before Hedorah proceeded to knock him off his feet with a flyby in addition to leaving a chunk of sludge on his arm. As Godzilla got to his knees, he was knocked down by another flyby. In retaliation, Godzilla fired his atomic breath straight at the ground and curled up before lifting off the ground with his weapon acting as propulsion. Immediately, Godzilla rammed Hedorah dorsal-plate-first, knocking them both out of the sky. Godzilla got up just as Hedorah was about to turn into another form, which he halted with a punch. He then proceeded to brutally pummel Hedorah with his feet until he crushed a vital organ, after which, he reduced Hedorah almost to dust with his atomic breath. With Hedorah defeated, Godzilla headed east to confront to the other extraterrestrial monsters. Godzilla eventually bared his presence before SpaceGodzilla and Monster X in the New York Harbor, completely unhesitant to face the duo. Godzilla proceeded to hit SpaceGodzilla with his atomic breath, who retaliated with his corona beam. Monster X subsequently joined the other two monsters’ beam lock with his destroyed thunder, which caused a massive explosion that sent all three kaiju flying away from each other.

"This Time He's Fighting For His Life"

Instantaneously, Godzilla approached SpaceGodzilla before grabbing his enemy by the lower jaw, who proceeded to levitate up and knock him onto The submerged Kiryu with his tail. As Godzilla came to his hands, he was blasted by SpaceGodzilla’s corona beam, before Kiryu suddenly hit him with his absolute zero cannon. With SpaceGodzilla down on his hands, Godzilla proceeded to destroy his enemy’s shoulder crystals and dorsal plates with his atomic breath. Godzilla proceeded to engage Monster X in the heart of the city, only to be bombarded with powerful blows from the skeletal alien. After being blasted by Monster X’s destroyed thunder, Godzilla unleashed his own breath weapon at his opponent, who proceeded to transform into Keizer Ghidorah. The two proceeded to engage in a beam lock, which resulted in Keizer Ghidorah’s destroyed Keizer completely overpowering Godzilla’s atomic breath and sending the Monster King straight into Liberty Island, reducing it to ruin. Godzilla immediately got back to his feet, sending the Statue of Liberty flying with his tail while doing so, coming face to face with his enormous three-headed enemy once more. Instantaneously, Godzilla was sent high up into the sky by Keizer Ghidorah’s destroyed Keizer, after which, he landed on the Brooklynn Bridge.

"The End of This Nightmare... Once and for All"

Godzilla stood back up before firing his atomic breath straight at Keizer Ghidorah, who retaliated by ensnaring him with his destroyed Keizer before proceeding to carry him far above the city and then dropping him straight down on it. Subsequently, Godzilla finished off the remaining head with a powerful stomp, ending the alien invasion.

Godzilla: Rulers of Earth

"In the Court of the King"

"Showdown"

"Tides of War"

200 miles west of the coast of California, Godzilla investigated the remains of the USS Goldstein, which had been destroyed by Manda and bared no survivors, courtesy of Gezora. Godzilla looked down at the water before he was suddenly dragged down below the surface by something. Godzilla would soon free himself from his mysterious attacker off-panel, making his next appearance in Malibu, California, where Godzilla collapsed down onto the ground. Godzilla had succumbed to a deep wound inflicted on his chest from his earlier underwater struggle, his nostrils emitting smoke and bleeding as he lied in pain due to the severity of the chest wound.

"Dawn of Destoroyah"

"Captive"

Godzilla was reported to be traveling east through the deserts of California.

"Two of a Kind"

"Viva Jet Jaguar"

"Monster Island"

"An Unnatural History"

"No Place Like Home"

"The Devils and the Deep"

"As Above, So Below"

"Changing of the Guard"

During a roller skating competition, in which Lucy Casprell wins under the name "Kaiju Cutie", the building is crumbled from above as the audience leaves in a panic. Lucy wonders going on as a bystander tells her that "he's back". She asks who's back, only to have her answer in the form of Godzilla, who proceeds to demolish the city and destroy several tanks firing at him. It's revealed that four years have passed since Godzilla's disappearance after he was buried underwater with the Devonian civilization, and the Monster Islands are now filled with various kaiju.

In the Arctic Circle, a group of poachers on the Bloodthirsty Rose are out to club a colony of seals before they can get caught. One poacher corners a pup, but before he can finish the baby seal off, a giant eye opens within the ice; Godzilla's eye. Godzilla bursts from the ice, killing the poachers and destroying their ship. One day later in Moscow, a Russian warmonger named Dyachenko states to his audience of national representatives that the world has had a tragic history when it comes to giant monsters. He suggests that they order his own version of Mechagodzilla soon, "before it's too late", as Godzilla is seen swimming in the ocean.

"Strangers"

Godzilla is seen swimming off the coast of Boston, before emerging much later with a nuclear submarine in his grasp. A squadron of jets fire a missile salvo on Godzilla's neck, only for one of them to be shot down by his atomic breath. Woods and Allie try to find a shelter as the former soldier tries to call and see what the response plan is. Woods tells command that there's civilians still in the streets and to tell the jets to draw Godzilla away from the city. The CKR team is unresponsive, he'll contact command in 15 minutes, and he tells them to call him if they have any updates. A terrified Allie sees Godzilla coming right for them as the jets fire on the King of Monsters, causing him to destroy a nearby building as Allie and Woods are buried in rubble. Later a group of Mechagodzillas fly to Boston from Russia and intercept Godzilla as he's returning to the ocean.

"Hunting Party"

"King for a Day"

"Space and Time"

As Godzilla and Anguirus depart the ruined Dyachenko Offensive Robotics and Technologies Facility in Russia, Lucy Casprell and Chavez notice a pair of Mechagodzillas following Mecha-King Ghidorah into space alongside a Cryog ship. The vision causes Lucy to faint into Chavez's arms as the Spetsnaz leader aims a pistol at her, telling the CKR soldier to move away as she could be a Cryog in disguise. Chavez tells him to back off and stands in the soldier's way, but the standoff is resolved with the arrival of Kiryu. Meanwhile, an exhausted Godzilla and Anguirus return to the sea. A CKR operative reports that the monsters are splitting up, the Russians have held back on engaging them as per the CKR's request, and Godzilla is slowing down. Steven Woods notes that Godzilla's tiring and orders for any subs in the area to clear out. When he asks when his team will be extracted, with the operative replying that they'll take off in a few minutes. The operative asks if Woods is returning to the CKR, to which the soldier confirms, stating that things will "never let him leave again".

"All Creatures, Mega and Small"

"Signal to End"

Godzilla tries to escape the hole that Megaguirus dropped him in as Meganulon and Meganula pierce into his flesh with their pincers and tail pincers. Godzilla squishes several Meganula before using a nuclear pulse to kill the rest of the smaller bugs, lighting the hole on fire. Megaguirus grabs Godzilla from behind and carries him up into the air again, impaling the King of Monsters through his back. Godzilla tries to blast her with his atomic breath, but it doesn't fire due to Megaguirus draining his energy. The King of Monsters grabs her pincer and bites into her neck, causing both monsters to crash into Machu Picchu in Peru. Meanwhile, up in space, a massive Cryog hunting pod enters the Earth's atmosphere. When an underling reports that the hunting pod has been sent to investigate a massive biological energy reading, a new and mysterious leader orders for it to hone in on the source and engage it. The hunting pod crashes into Peru directly onto Godzilla and Megaguirus, temporarily knocking them out cold. The underling tells the new leader that the hunting pod has landed before asking if they should reveal themselves to Rhizon. Godzilla and Megaguirus come to and turn their attention to the pod as it opens to reveal several mysterious creatures. The leader orders for them to keep hidden for the time being, as he wants to see how Rhizon will react to these new creatures: the Trilopods.

"Dawn of the Trilopods"

In Peru, the Trilopods, both Alphas and Betas, exit the Hunting Pod and face Godzilla and Megaguirus. As the Trilopods attack, Godzilla slams an Alpha with his tail as another one overwhelms Megaguirus, piercing her flesh with its pedipalps and absorbing her DNA. Another Alpha Trilopod bites into Godzilla's leg, but is stomped to death by the King of the Monsters. Before he can blast two more Alphas with his atomic breath, however, a Beta slams him to the ground and uses its scythes to clamp Godzilla's jaws shut as the two Alphas pierce into his flesh. As Godzilla looks on in horror, an Alpha climbs on top the Beta and fuses with it, creating a new Trilopod that resembles Megaguirus. Godzilla manages to break free and blast his atomic breath at the Alpha Trilopod pair on top of him, decapitating one of them before killing the other by crushing its neck in his jaws. As the Megaguirus-Trilopod confronts Godzilla, Megaguirus attempts to escape in the chaos. However, Godzilla flings the Alpha Trilopod carcass at her, knocking her out of the sky. The Megaguirus-Trilopod fires a massive laser beam at Godzilla, knocking him unconscious and burying Megaguirus under a pile of rubble. The Megaguirus-Trilopod grabs Godzilla and flies up into the air as it leaves Peru.

"Home Invasion"

in Los Angeles, Godzilla and SpaceGodzilla are busy battling a Trilopod with SpaceGodzilla's attributes. After being slammed from behind by another Trilopod resembling Megaguirus, he and SpaceGodzilla are lifted into the air telekinetically and slammed into each other by the SpaceGodzilla-Trilopod. Fighter jets come in to attack the extraterrestrial creatures, but the Megaguirus-Trilopod quickly destroys them. SpaceGodzilla forms a large amount of crystals around him, only for the SpaceGodzilla-Trilopod to shoot several of them at him with telekinesis, much to the space monster's surprise. However, Godzilla blasts them out of the air with his atomic breath and uses another crystal to smash into the SpaceGodzilla-Trilopod. The Megaguirus-Trilopod fires a massive fireball at the two monsters and overpowers SpaceGodzilla, knocking him unconscious. However, Godzilla grabs the Megaguirus-Trilopod by its tail, slams it to the ground, and kills it with his atomic breath. The SpaceGodzilla-Trilopod retaliates by throwing SpaceGodzilla into him, knocking the King of Monsters unconscious as the alien monster traps the both of them in a crystal prison.

"An Uneasy Alliance"

In Los Angeles, Godzilla and SpaceGodzilla find an opening in their crystal prison and try to break free, only for the SpaceGodilla-Trilopod to close off the opening and trapping them even more. As the group look on in shock, including the newly arrived Lucy Casprell, Jason Ford, and Kristina Sumres, a news report shows the Trilopod hive in Los Angeles opening up and releasing several Trilopods as they move towards the unconscious Godzilla. Several Alpha Trilopods pierce into his flesh with their mouth parts and they combine with the Betas to form creatures "looking like Godzilla."

"Old Rules"

Godzilla-Trilopods are seen in this issue.

"Battlecry"

"End"

In the ruins of Los Angeles, Godzilla finds himself surrounded by Trilopodsbearing the characteristics of himself, Anguirus, Titanosaurus, Baragon, Kumonga, Rodan, Varan, Gaira, Sanda, Kamoebas, Gorosaurus, and Gezora.

After Woods' funeral, Chavez takes over the CKR, with new weaponry such as a Maser Cannonand the Gotengo being added to the arsenal.

Abilities

Atomic breath

Godzilla is capable of shooting a beam of focused nuclear radiation out of his mouth. He didn't naturally have this ability when he first emerged and instead gained this ability in Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters after absorbing the energy of a nuclear missile launched at him. This weapon started out as a blue radioactive beam of fire with fluid movement, baring a resemblance to the incandescent light possessed by the Original and Showa Godzillas in their debut films. By the time of his second battle against Mechagodzilla, the atomic breath begins to appear as a concentrated energy beam. The atomic breath is capable of inflicting great harm on most other monsters as well an engulf the surrounding environment in flames or create enormous explosions. It is capable of reducing various cities such as Nii-Jima Island, Tokyo, Yokohama, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. to ruin.

In Godzilla, his atomic is identical to the Heisei Godzilla’s atomic breath but with a more concentrated, energy-like appearance rather than a fiery beam. His atomic breath is powerful enough to overpower Kiryu’s chest beam and blast through the robot’s neck. Later on, Godzilla successfully utilized his atomic breath to break free of a cubed forcefield-like containment composed of experimental black hole energy. Godzilla brutally killed Hedorah with multiple blasts of his atomic breath in addition to pummeling the Smog Monster. Later, Godzilla sent SpaceGodzilla into retreat by destroying his shoulder crystals and dorsal plates with his atomic breath after his clone was hit by Mechagodzilla's absolute zero cannon.

By Godzilla: Rulers of Earth, the atomic breath’s appearance became more of a powerful, concentrated blast of energy, making it identical to the atomic breath of the Godzilla incarnations from the Millennium era films, especially that of the Final Wars Godzilla. It set Biollante ablaze completely, leaving the monster in flames and agonizing pain as Godzilla left.

Spiral Heat Ray

Godzilla possesses an unnamed, but far more powerful version of his atomic breath, which is orange in color. He used this beam in his fight with Magita.

Nuclear Pulse

Godzilla sports a nuclear pulse, which is capable of incinerating Destoroyah’s aggravate forms and throw off various attackers. He posses an orange variant of the pulse that was able to finish off and obliterate Magita.

Physical Abilities

Godzilla has a breathtaking amount of strength, overpowering most other monsters with ease, even standing his ground against the likes of Destoroyah and SpaceGodzilla. In Kingdom of Monsters, he triumphed over Anguirus with tremendous brutality in their fight in Los Angeles, leaving the latter lying in a vulnerable state. In his first encounter with Mechagodzilla, Godzilla inflicted enough damage to the robot to leave it covered in cracks and visible damage when he unintentionally sent it flying with a changed objective. He would later worsen Mechagodzilla’s condition when the two of them and King Ghidorah engaged in a free-for-all battle in Washington, D.C., giving its controllers no choice but to retreat. In his very first one-against-one fight against Ghidorah, Godzilla over time gained the victory when his strength and power proved greater than that of the less enduring dragon.

In Godzilla, it is explained by Boxer’s ex, Claire Plangman, that Godzilla was buried underneath a mountain range near Washington, D.C. after his fight with Rodan and Battra, but he managed to free himself.

In Rulers of Earth, he threw Zilla over an incredible distance with just his jaws, and later held him by the throat with one hand. He overpowered Biollante despite his size disadvantage. He used Anguirus as a flail-like weapon against Mecha-King Ghidorah with great efficiency. In the final issue of Rulers of Earth, Godzilla upholds Magita as she attempts to crush him, holding the mountain-sized alien long enough to kill her.

Godzilla possesses a natural prowess in combat as shown throughout his fights in, proving capable of handling two enemies at once. He defeated Rodan and Battra with ease. By his last appearances, Godzilla had mastered a particular martial art and is incredibly prow in hand-to-hand combat, taking on numerous opponents at once on at least three occasions in Rulers of Earth. The first was when he fought Titanosaurus, Manda, Gezora, and Destoroyah all alone underwater. The second time, he took on multiple Mechagodzillas before facing Mecha-King Ghidorah. The final time was when he temporarily faced the numerous Trilopods sent to Earth all alone.

Physical Durability

Godzilla's resilience is unrivaled by most kaiju, being able to endure many powerful attacks, even when facing a worthy opponent. Naturally, he is impervious to conventional weapons, including nuclear weapons, which only succeeded in making him more powerful.

Intelligence

Godzilla had proved himself to be very intelligent both in and out of battle as early as the first few issues of Kingdom of Monsters.

In his fight with Anguirus in Los Angeles, for unknown reasons, Godzilla deliberately obliterated the famous “HOLLYWOOD” reading in the outskirts of the city upon noticing it. Immediately afterwards, Godzilla countered Anguirus in mid-air before the Ankylosaurid monster could succeed in pouncing on him.

In Godzilla, Godzilla nearly killed Hedorah due to continuously adapting to the Smog Monster’s abilities and tactics. Ultimately, he almost entirely replicated his Showa film counterpart’s means of defeating Hedorah.

In Rulers of Earth, He pulled off a successful ambush on Zilla during their fight. He is capable of effectively coordinating and strategizing in battle with other Kaiju such as Anguirus, Mothra, Jet Jaguar, SpaceGodzilla, and more.

Psychic Durability

Godzilla possesses a powerful mind and unrivaled willpower, which made him completely unfazed by the Headache Beam. Before that, Godzilla was unaffected by Minette and Mallory’s powers, which deemed the evil twins’ plans to acquire him under their influence as a completely futile effort.

Healing Factor

Godzilla possesses regenerative capabilities that can heal injuries quickly, sometimes with enough speed to heal from blood-drawing attacks as soon as they are inflicted.

Energy Absorption

Godzilla possesses energy absorbing capabilities, first demonstrated in Kingdom of Monsters when the absorption of energy from a nuclear missile granted him his infamous atomic breath. After exhausting himself in his fights in Washington DC, Godzilla was brought back to his feet when the evil psychic twins Minette and Mallory commanded Rodan and Battra to drop him onto a nuclear power plant before having the latter ignite an explosion with his prism beams. This completely revitalized Godzilla and allowed him to swiftly dispatch his company.

Radioactive Emissions

In Kingdom of Monsters, Godzilla’s rampage in Tokyo produced a radioactive fallout, causing a mass contamination that left masses of fish dead and sources of water undrinkable.

Weaknesses

As seemingly unstoppable as he is, Godzilla has had blood drawn by many of his enemies. Though conventional weapons are incapable of inflicting any damage on Godzilla, they have been used to draw his attention or even steer him into traps. He can be overwhelmed when facing too many opponents, especially shown in Rulers of Earth when Godzilla was unable to fight the hoard of Trilopods on his own.

 2. In Godzilla: Rulers of Earth volumes 4 through 6, Godzilla is depicted as visibly shorter than the trilopods. This could potentially infer his height as 55 meters, the same as the majority of his Millennium era film counterparts.
