— Marco Petithomme (Godzilla #1)

Marco Petithomme is a character who appears in IDW Publishing's 2025 ongoing comic series Godzilla. A scientist working for G-Force USA and Jacen Braid's roommate, he secretly reports to unknown superiors and plans to uncover the secrets behind Jacen's powers.

Personality

Marco comes across as an awkward but kind person, a scientist who goes largely unappreciated in a G-Force branch focused on martial prowess. He harbors ulterior motives, however, and a more ominous side to his personality as a potential mole within the agency seeking to determine the secrets of Jacen Braid's unique Kai-Sei powers and if he is a threat to the faction Petithomme is truly aligned with. Despite this, he showcases some sympathy for Jacen Braid, taking note of the nickname "Lil' Man" his roommate gave him and even responding in kind with his own nickname, "Jay".

Godzilla

Godzilla #1

On his first day at G-Force USA, Jacen Braid found his roommate, Marco Petithomme, wearing a hazmat suit with a Kai-Sei energy detector as a precautionary measure. Once sure that Jacen's Kai-Sei levels were non-threatening, he introduced himself to Jacen and remarked how unusual it was for the field team to interact with the scientists before suddenly noticing Jacen rapidly heating up popcorn with his Kai-Sei power. He asked Jacen to join him in on a snack run and intimidate some bioweapons personnel picking on him, though Jacen had to decline due to combat training. As Jacen left the room, Marco radioed a mysterious contact that he had successfully made contact with Jacen Braid and would set out to uncover his secrets no matter what.

Godzilla #2

Marco was one of the personnel attending to Jacen after he and Dr. Rumi Chiba's encounter with Yacumama. While Jacen's initial state was worrisome, Marco assured him that he'd make a full recovery with enough food. When more Yacumama burst out of the corpse G-Force had acquired, they launched towards Jacen and Marco, the former jumping in front of the latter. Fortunately, Jet Jaguar caught the two kaiju before they could latch onto the humans. Marco confusedly asked if Jacen had called him "Lil' Man", which Jacen confirmed, having spun it from his last name. After the plan to lure out Godzilla with the Yacumama went awry, with the latter attacking G-Force, Marco sarcastically remarked how everyone seemed so surprised the new kaiju turned out to be dangerous, which fell on deaf ears in the G-Force control room. Walking off to a more secluded section of the facility, Marco once again made contact with an unknown superior over the radio, who remarked how he had seemingly grown sympathetic to the G-Mutant. Marco commented about the nickname Jacen gave him earlier: a minor detail, he noted, but one that came across as a very human notion. When his superior asked whether Jacen "present[ed] an evolutionary threat", Marco was hesitant and unsure. While G-Force viewed Jacen as a weapon against Godzilla, Marco thought it seemed more like Godzilla and Jacen were traps set for one another, and it was only a matter of which one would take the bait first.

Godzilla #3

After analyzing the morphological and chemical makeup of the Yacumama, Marco informed Commander Riviera that the kaiju was in fact a synthetic life form created by something or someone of notable intelligence. He was able to isolate a specific isotope from the creature and deduced that whoever created the Yacumama was likely in residence around the Upshot-Knothole Test Site in Nevada, with Riviera concluding from that information that Godzilla was seeking out the source of the leeches. Marco praised Riviera's assessment, and asked for him to put a good word in for himself and the Science Division to seek an increase in the branch's budget. Riviera, however, ended the call in the middle of his pitch.

Godzilla #6

When Dr. Chiba asked Jacen where his roommate was, he replied that Marco had gone off to meet some personnel in the bioweapons crew.

Godzilla #7

As Jacen was preparing to meet Nuki at a club, he was interrupted by Marco, who said he and the science division had many question to ask the field team, the most notable being how Jacen had managed to kill Godzilla and what the kaiju's internal physiology looked like. However, he quickly followed it up with a second question regarding Jacen's well-being, asking if he was doing alright after the revelation that the talking kaiju Lament was in fact his mother. Jacen initially dodged the first two questions, and only answered Marco's third question about where all his popcorn had gone, commenting that he tended to eat when he was nervous. Marco asked what he could be nervous about, to which Jacen brought up his upcoming meeting with Nuki, which he wasn't quite sure counted as a date or not. Marco was quick to conclude that it likely was. Jacen said he had to go, but answered Marco's second question: his mom and dad were gone and G-Force was his family now. As Jacen left the room, Marco radioed back to his unknown contact that Jacen had accepted his role as humanity's champion, a development that should frighten them all.

Godzilla #8

Marco oversaw the transfer of an unconscious Anguirus to a G-Force offsite detention facility after the kaiju's short but vicious battle with Kai-Sei Energy Godzilla. Marco felt a sense of pride in accomplishing such a feat, though Nuki and Incense, dropping Jet Jaguar off for security detail, were nonplussed. Before they left, however, Marco urgently inquired if there was truth to the accounts that Jacen became Godzilla, to which Incense immediately confirmed the incident was true and had nearly occurred moments earlier at the Black Lamp club, much to Nuki's chagrin. Marco was then reminded of Jacen's thoughts on that meetup, asking if it indeed was a date. Incense argued otherwise, but in the middle of his rant Anguirus suddenly stirred from his slumber to attack the trio. Jet Jaguar knocked the kaiju unconscious once more, with Marco commenting that Anguirus seemed to have been agitated by some sort of smell. Later on, Marco met with Jacen, who had been locked up after the events at the Black Lamp. He told Braid that with a kaiju stampede on the horizon, G-Force had authorized Jacen's deployment into the field.

Godzilla #9

Marco theatrically announced Jacen and Jet Jaguar's deployment, something he claimed was simply a part of protocol, and referred to the G-Mutant by a nickname of his own: Jay. Marco cleared Jet Jaguar for transport, but was surprised at the seeming hostility the mech had towards Jacen, though the G-Force soldier assured Marco it was all good. As Jacen left with Jet Jaguar, commenting about how he owed Marco for eating the last of his popcorn, Marco muttered that Jacen should have said he would owe him his life, before making contact with his superior once more. He reported that the situation with Jacen Braid had rapidly changed, and that "the potential consequences for our people have gotten significantly... bigger."

Godzilla #10

As Major General Onishi supervised the progress G-Force USA had made in dealing with the kaiju stampede, Petithomme arrived to deliver crucial information regarding the ongoing crisis. He had been triangulating the destination all the kaiju and found they had been heading towards a single location, something corroborated by a huge drop in groundwater in the general vicinity. When asked by Onishi about whether anyone else knew about the triangulated location, Petithomme said no. With that, Onishi told the scientist to join him on the field, asking if he had any experience in the field of botany.
