— The Shobijin to Moshu-Moshu and Moshuu-Moshuu (Godziban episode 40, "Moshu-Moshu Connected Forever") |
Luna (ルナ and Lune Runa) (ルネ, known collectively as the Rune)Shobijin (小美人, are priestesses of Shōbijin, lit. "little beauties")Moshu-Moshu and Moshuu-Moshuu, a pair of twin Mothra larvae, in the 2019 web series Godziban.
Name
"Shobijin" is a direct romanization of the Japanese term 小美人 (Shōbijin), meaning "little beauties." Luna is the name of the Shobijin with red eyes and black hair, while Lune is the brunette with blue eyes.[1]
Luna and Lune are rivaled by a similar sorceress named Luluvera, who acts as the priestess of Bashu-Bashu. Unlike Belvera, who was identified as one of the Elias in the Rebirth of Mothra trilogy despite her malevolent nature, Luluvera is not identified as one of the Shobijin sisters.
Personality
Luna and Lune are very hopeful and optimistic beings. They are very supportive of Moshu-Moshu and Moshuu-Moshuu and strive to keep them happy while teaching them how to be Mothras, frequently letting them play and enjoy themselves. They even encourage Bashu-Bashu to join Moshu-Moshu and Moshuu-Moshuu in their fun activities, though Luluvera repeatedly prevents the young Battra from engaging with the Mothras.

"Moshu-Moshu and the Door of Dreams"
While playing with a string telephone, Moshu-Moshu and Moshuu-Moshuu were visited by Luna and Lune - the Shobijin - who appeared before the baby Mothras in a flash of light while Bashu-Bashu hid behind a tree to watch. The Shobijin brought the Mothras to the "door of dreams", which led to a realm of clouds for the larvae to play on. After noticing Bashu-Bashu, the Shobijin invited the young Battra to join them, only for Luluvera to beckon Bashu-Bashu away. The Shobijin told Moshu-Moshu and Moshuu-Moshuu that Bashu-Bashu and Luluvera were connected through the soul, just like they were with the Mothras.
"Moshu & Moshuu ★ Dance!"
Luna and Lune attempted to teach Moshu-Moshu and Moshuu-Moshuu a special dance called the Infant Dance, though every time they left to allow the larvae time to practice by themselves, the larvae instead had fun and danced their own ways. While the Shobijin believed they needed more work, they were nevertheless encouraged by Moshu-Moshu and Moshuu-Moshuu's dance skills.
"Moshu-Moshu Connected Forever"
After defeating Desghidorah, the weary Mothra returned to Luna and Lune just before an egg materialized before them, which the Shobijin knew meant Mothra was dying. After Mothra passed, the Shobijin stayed with and protected the egg until it hatched into two larvae - Moshu-Moshu and Moshuu-Moshuu. The Shobijin smothered the adorable newborn larvae until Luluvera appeared and showed them the newborn Bashu-Bashu, informing them that she would be keeping an eye on them so they don't slack off. After Luluvera left, Luna and Lune continued to gush over the newborns.
Much later, after the newborns had grown up, the Shobijin showed them a string telephone that allowed them to communicate with their mother in the heavens, assuring them that they would always be connected. They later showed them many string telephones that connected them to the voices of children across the world before inviting them to travel and learn about the world.
"Beat Space and the Future!"
After Godzilla-kun defeated King Ghidorah and Monster Zero, Lune, Luna, Moshu-Moshu, and Moshuu-Moshuu witnessed a rainbow appear in the sky.
