Plot
Twenty years after the monster apocalypse and the last monster disappeared, humanity is still recovering. In a village in the ruins of Tokyo, a man named Hiroshi is told by his grandson, Arata, and a young man called Shiori that they and a number of other men are going look for things in the ruins that the villagers asked them for. When they arrive, they note that the place has gotten overgrown by new plant life. They encounter the carcass of a bear, and just then, a number of Kamacuras attack them and kill several members of the group. Shiori and Arata hide under some debris, but the Kamacuras finds them. However, before the Kamacuras could do anything, it gets dismembered violently by the plants—Biollante. The two get out and see that a giant monster was fighting the Kamacuras. Suddenly, Biollante gets blasted by a blue stream of radiation. Shiori and Arata look up, see Godzilla and exclaim, "The gods have returned!" as Godzilla gets ready to fight Biollante.
