Gamera: The Guardian of the Universe (ガメラ:宇宙の守護神,   Gamera: Uchū no Shugoshin, lit. Gamera: Guardian Deity of the Universe) is a four-issue comic book series published by Dark Horse Comics. It serves as a follow-up to the 1995 film Gamera: Guardian of the Universe, with Asagi Kusanagi and Dr. Mayumi Nagamine returning as Gamera battles another Gyaos, Zigra, and Viras. The comic was localized in Japan in 2018 by Phase 6 as a collected volume containing all four issues, with Matt Frank's doujinshi The Last Hope included as a bonus.

I assume this was retconned by the other films and the Gamera vs. Barugon manga.

Most likely, since it was a short-lived U.S. tie-in comic whose events are never acknowledged in subsequent films, and are contradicted in the Gamera vs. Barugon manga where Zigra is concerned.

Eh. Still pretty rad though. And if i'm not mistaken it only says Zigra was an alien who Gamera defeated...

Ok. But why didn't Kadokawa choose to make the Gamera vs. Barugon manga into a film? And will anyone make articles about the Lizard Mutant and Spiked Mutant from the first issue?

Zigra isn't an alien in the manga though. He's just another one of the prototype Atlantean guardian monsters along with Iris, Barugon, and Jiger.
