Godzilla (ゴジラ Gojira) is a kaiju who appeared in the 1997-1998 tv show Godzilla Island. The first incarnation of Godzilla to appear in a live-action and story-driven Godzilla TV series, this Godzilla is the leader of the monsters on Godzilla Island who helps to defend the Earth against the various attempts of the Xiliens to take over the planet.

Name

See also: Godzilla#Name.

Godzilla's Japanese name, Gojira (ゴジラ), comes from a combination of the Japanese approximation of "gorilla" (ゴリラ,   gorira), and kujira (クジラ), the Japanese word for "whale."

Development

To be added.

Design

The toy used to portray this Godzilla is a Bandai Godzilla Island Monster Series figure of the RadoGoji design.

In some episodes he is depicted through stock footage of various Toho films such as Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster, Invasion of Astro-Monster, The Return of Godzilla and Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla.

Additionally, Godzilla's eyes glow red when he is possessed by SpaceGodzilla's ghost.

Personality

While Godzilla was once a destructive monster, by 2097 Godzilla had become more benevolent and is accepted as leader by the other monsters on the island. Godzilla shows more willingness to fight the pawns of the Xiliens attempting to take over Godzilla Island as seen by his willingness to battle SpaceGodzilla and is accepting of Gigan's duel - the latter example also shows that Godzilla cares about his honour as he refuses to back down from the duel despite King Caesar's warnings though he does care more about the safety of his friends and the island as seen when he moves to attack Dororin rather than resume a battle with Gigan. Godzilla is also shown to care about his son Junior as he started his own search when Junior was kidnapped and refused to retreat when being badly hurt by the Infrared Auto-Blaster next to Junior's cage, forcing Rodan to collect him.

Origins

Godzilla's origins lie in the 20th century where he was a malevolent and destructive monster, similar to other incarnations of the character such as the 1954 Godzilla and Heisei Godzilla. He is also known to have fought Gigan during this time. However, he later became benevolent when he moved to Godzilla Island and became the leader of the other monsters on the island.

Godzilla Island

Introducing Torema

Godzilla was first seen resting in his cave on Godzilla Island, leaving when he detected the UFO Vabaruda travelling towards the island. Godzilla was later seen watching a smaller, red spaceship fly towards the Vabaruda and then the arrival of SpaceGodzilla. When SpaceGodzilla arrived on the island and began to attacking the G-Guard base, Godzilla wished to battle the space monster but waited until G-Guard Commander Beisuke Jinguji ordered him to do so. Godzilla began to wrestle with his extra-terrestrial doppelganger who was comparable in strength to him and then targeted SpaceGodzilla's shoulder with his atomic breath when Torema advised him to do so, destroying his left shoulder crystal. After Torema destroyed the right shoulder crystal with her ship's lasers, Godzilla fired his atomic breath simultaneously with the red spaceship's lasers, destroying SpaceGodzilla.

King Ghidorah

The various monsters living on Godzilla Island suddenly went berserk and started to attack one another with Godzilla battling Rodan using his atomic breath. King Ghidorah arrived on the island and began to cause chaos while Little Mothra was attempting to break up the fight between Godzilla and Rodan but the two duelling monsters did not listen to Little Mothra's words. The two stopped fighting when Torema destroyed the Berserker Wave Tower constructed by the Xiliens, the reason for the monster's odd behaviour, and they teamed up with Little Mothra to battle King Ghidorah. Godzilla briefly wrestled with King Ghidorah until Rodan knocksed the three of them into the sea, with Godzilla surfacing first.

When King Ghidorah returned after being revived with a Nourishing Drink Akamanda Beam which also made him three times as powerful, Godzilla battled the monster, trading rays and wrestling with him until King Ghidorah knocked him flying with a point-blank blast from his gravity beams. With the other monsters on the island being hospitalised and both Mechagodzilla and Moguera being under repair to damage they sustained[note 2], Godzilla was helpless as King Ghidorah mercilessly attacked him. However, as King Ghidorah prepared to kill Godzilla, Torema used her Miracle Psychokinesis ability despite being poisoned to mentally attack King Ghidorah, stunning him and giving Godzilla a chance to fight back. Godzilla fired a blast of atomic breath at the space dragon, knocking him down and the two continued to fight. After Godzilla blasted King Ghidorah once again with atomic breath and bit one of his necks, King Ghidorah retreatd. Godzilla tried to stop him by biting one of his tails though he escaped anyway.

The Trial of Godzilla
Godzilla facing Fake Godzilla

After Godzilla seemingly rampaged through the Yurakucho district in Tokyo, Godzilla was arrested by the Super X2 and placed in giant handcuffs. Godzilla denied rampaging through Tokyo and explains that he went to Matango Island in order to watch the Moon but confessed to having a bite from one of the mushrooms on the island. Beisuke Jinguji ordered that Matango Island be investigated and Godzilla's alcohol content checked and detained Godzilla. Godzilla escaped his cell during an attack on the island by Battra and Megalon and appeared to return to Tokyo to continue rampaging, causing the Earth government to issue an order to kill Godzilla with Torema leaving in the Panna Torte in protest to meet with Godzilla. She was shot out of the sky by Godzilla when she attempted to talk him out of attacking Tokyo but was caught by a second Godzilla, revealing the Godzilla who rampaged through Tokyo to be a robotic impostor all along. Godzilla hit Fake Godzilla with a blast of atomic breath, exposing part of its true mechanical appearance. It fired a blast of atomic breath in response but he ignored it and fired atomic breath back, destroying it once and for all. Godzilla then returned home to Godzilla Island with Torema.

Junior Kidnapped

Godzilla could be seen alongside the other inhabitants of Godzilla Island during a period of peace on the island, during which his son Junior was released from the childcare wing of the Monster Hospital. Godzilla was later seen calling away Junior after he watched the sunset with Torema. As they walked away, Megalon, who had been sent to spy on the island, informed Zagreth about Junior's existence. After Junior was kidnapped by Megalon the next day, Godzilla began a search for his child while G-Guard began their own search. Godzilla watched with Rodan and Anguirus as Torema transported Junior back to Godzilla Island, having found him on Matango Island, until Battra cut the line and flew back to Matango Island with Junior. Enraged, Godzilla went to Matango Island himself.

Godzilla charged in but was badly injured by the Infrared Auto-Blaster placed near Junior's cell though refused orders by Torema and Beisuke Jinguji to retreat, forcing Rodan to pick up Godzilla and carry him to safety. Mother Mothra later landed in front of Godzilla and Rodan and they came up with a plan to rescue Junior. Godzilla followed Mothra after she disrupted the Auto-Blaster's sensors with her pollen and caused it to fire wildly, hitting the weapon with atomic breath after it fired at both the Vabaruda and Battra. After Moguera knocked Megalon out and opened Junior's cage, Godzilla and his son reunited though their reunion was short-lived as Zagreth summoned Destoroyah who hit Junior to the ground with a punch. An angered Godzilla tried to intervene but Destoroyah easily knocks him down with an Oxygen Destroyer Ray. After Destoroyah avoided Moguera's eye beams and easily defeated Rodan, Godzilla got back up and fired atomic breath though Destoroyah easily dodged this and began to wrestle with Godzilla. Godzilla finally defeated Destoroyah by kicking him in front of the damaged Auto-Blaster which fired at him and caused a large explosion.

Gigan
Godzilla confronting Gigan

Godzilla noticed Gigan, a monster who battled him in the 20th century and is now working with Zagreth, examining him with his robotic eye until the cyborg returned back to outer space to formulate a plan to defeat Godzilla. Gigan then shot a note at Godzilla, challenging him to a battle at sundown. Godzilla accepted the duel and refused to back down when King Caesar advised him to, King Caesar warning him that Gigan is unlike other monsters they have faced and that he has a bad feeling about the duel. Godzilla and Gigan then met, though they both stare each other down and neither of them make the first move until dawn at which point Gigan reflected sunlight at Godzilla's face, disorienting him and giving Gigan an opening to charge forward. However, Godzilla recovered, prompting Gigan to return to the starting point. Annoyed at the two monsters' refusal to strike first, Zagreth summoned Battra to help Gigan fight. Gigan fired a laser at Godzilla which appears to be directed at Godzilla but the King of the Monsters moved to the side and the laser hit Battra, the intended target as Gigan wished to duel Godzilla fairly. The two resumed staring each other down until a sudden rockfall caused them to charge at each other, with Gigan striking Godzilla and causing him to fall to the ground.

Mother Mothra and Rodan intervened, with Rodan collecting Godzilla and carrying him to the hot spring on the island and Mother Mothra disorienting Gigan with her pollen and then following Rodan. Godzilla was healed by the hot spring and is joined by King Caesar, who commented that Godzilla's wounds seem to have healed and Godzilla thanked Mothra and Rodan for carrying him away from the fight. Godzilla apologised for worrying King Caesar who was more concerned about his ability to fight though Godzilla dismissed his wounds and comments that he can, just as Gigan arrived. Godzilla and King Caesar prepared for a fight but Gigan walked past them and went into the hot spring, explaining that he spared Godzilla because he also landed a fair hit on him and proposed a rematch in three days which Godzilla accepted. Godzilla began meditating at the Monster Temple to learn a new technique but was told off by King Caesar for falling asleep. Godzilla apologised and continued meditating. Godzilla then showed up to the duel, facing off against Gigan at the same place and the two began to stare each down while the other monsters voiced their concerns to King Caesar. While staring Gigan down, Godzilla closed his eyes and began emitting a green and red aura from his body. Godzilla then fired his atomic breath into the sky, giving Gigan a chance to charge forward, but the beam bended in midair to strike Gigan from behind. Godzilla then charged towards Gigan, stunned at this new ability, and kicked him to the ground. As the other monsters appeared around Godzilla to celebrate his victory over Gigan, Godzilla silently thanked King Caesar.

Mothra

Godzilla watched with Rodan as a meteor landed on Godzilla Island, destroying the underground wastewater treatment plant but missing the nearby chemical plant. Godzilla investigated the meteor as it glows and absorbs substances from the destroyed wastewater treatment plant, roaring at it. Godzilla later watched with several of the other monsters when a bomb planted by Zagreth blew up the chemical plant, releasing a cloud of toxic smoke. Godzilla was ordered to destroy the meteor as it was allowing the smoke to spread but collapsed from the meteor's fumes, being further hurt by the acid rain caused by the smoke. After Torema tricked Zagreth into using her neutraliser on the smog and Hedorah forming despite this, Godzilla was left powerless. After Hedorah knocked Mother Mothra out of the sky, Godzilla, having partially recovered from his injuries, fired a blast of atomic breath at Hedorah as the smog monster approached the fallen Mother Mothra. Hedorah easily knocked Godzilla over with eye lasers and continued to approach Mother Mothra and Little Mothra who had gone over to his mother. After Mother Mothra dropped Hedorah into the volcano Mt. Gorath and was killed in the following eruption, Hedorah re-emerged from the volcano a month later after absorbing sulfur oxide and attacked Godzilla Island again. As it approached Little Mothra's cocoon, Godzilla fired atomic breath at the pollution monster and began to wrestle with Hedorah. Mothra Leo, having been convinced to emerge from his cocoon by Torema, allied with Godzilla and the two destroyed Hedorah by overloading him with their respective beam attacks, causing the smog monster to explode. Godzilla then destroyed the red orb left behind, finally killing Hedorah.

Mecha-King Ghidorah
Godzilla redirecting one of Mecha-King Ghidorah's heads to strike another

Mecha-King Ghidorah landed in front of Godzilla on Godzilla Island and the two stared each other down until Godzilla realised that Mecha-King Ghidorah will not move due to a lack of an electronic brain, prompting him to simply walk over and push Mecha-King Ghidorah to the ground. Godzilla could later be seen talking to his son Junior while Torema and Lucas talked about the mission to take down the Vabaruda and Beisuke Jinguji's role in the mission. After Beisuke Jinguji returned to Godzilla Island under the mind control of the Xiliens, Godzilla was one of the monsters who has a metal collar fitted on him by Mechagodzilla and Moguera. Godzilla attempted to leave the area with Gorosaurus and Baragon but the collars tightened and Mechagodzilla and Moguera appeared to stop them. Jinguji ordered Mechagodzilla to attack Torema after she realised he was being mind-controlled and called him out for his cruel behaviour, but Godzilla flipped Mechagodzilla over before the robot could do anything and then tail-whipped Moguera. Godzilla then rallied the other monsters to raid the G-Guard base but paused when Torema tells him that Jinguji is being controlled by Zagreth though he eventually passed out due to the collar's constriction.

However, Godzilla quickly got back up and continued his march towards the G-Guard base but stopped when his collar was removed by Beisuke Jinguji, having had his mind-control severed after Torema made fun of his real name. Godzilla later prepared to leave the island with the other monsters as they felt they couldn't trust a commander who was easily controlled by the enemy. When Mecha-King Ghidorah returned and began attacking the G-Guard base, Godzilla and the other monsters ignored Jinguji's orders to attack Mecha-King Ghidorah as the cyborg attacked the G-Guard base as they had lost respect for the commander. However, while the other monsters prepared to leave, Godzilla instead proceeded to attack Mecha-King Ghidorah by firing atomic breath and then wrestling with the cybernetic monster though Mecha-King Ghidorah knocked him to the ground and fired laser beams at Godzilla. However, Beisuke Jinguji joined the fight by piloting Mechagodzilla as he wanted to win back the respect of the monsters on the island. After firing eye lasers at the cyborg and then being knocked over by Mecha-King Ghidorah's laser beams, Mechagodzilla knocked Mecha-King Ghidorah over by ramming into it. After witnessing this and hearing King Caesar's encouragement, the other monsters finally joined in to help Godzilla and Mechagodzilla fight. Godzilla redirected one of Mecha-King Ghidorah's heads to strike another and was aided by Mechagodzilla, King Caesar and Gorosaurus in destroying Mecha-King Ghidorah's weakened head, causing the cyborg to finally retreat to space. Godzilla joined the other monsters in praising Beisuke Jinguji for his role in the battle while piloting Mechagodzilla.

Mysteries of Godzilla Island

Godzilla was seen playing with Mothra Leo and Junior while Torema and Lucas asked each other various questions. Godzilla was seen in various flashbacks as the two discuss various matters and some of the questions directly related to Godzilla himself: Godzilla battled Gigan in the Sanda Plains and his favourite spot is Rodan's Hot Spring, he didn't use the Miraculous Secret Technique again as it required a lot of mental power and Lucas mentions Godzilla's cave as a point of interest. Meeting Godzilla was also mentioned as a reason Torema wanted to go to Earth due to his resemblance to her friend Jigora, alongside getting revenge on Zagreth.

SpaceGodzilla's Spirit

Godzilla was seen walking on Godzilla Island during the night until Dogora appears behind him and summoned the ghost of SpaceGodzilla who appeared and possessed Godzilla, causing him to fall over. Godzilla remained passed out even when the next day began, when Junior discovered him and called Torema over. Medical Jet Jaguar was deployed to check Godzilla for ailments due to Torema's suspicion that Godzilla was sick but could not identify what was wrong so transported him to the Monster Hospital. While Rodan was visiting him in the Monster Hospital, Godzilla woke up with red eyes, now fully possessed by SpaceGodzilla's ghost, and attacked Rodan. After absorbing Rodan's aura, Godzilla walked away and ignored Junior's calls. Godzilla next appeared in Anguirus's Valley and attacked the ankylosaur monster with atomic breath and absorbed his aura. Godzilla then moved to Gorosaurus's Village and wrestled with the theropod but overpowered him and stole his aura. While he made his way to Mothra's cave to attack Mothra Leo, Beisuke Jinguji deployed Mechagodzilla and Moguera in an attempt to stop him. However, Godzilla easily beat both robots with his atomic breath, even resisting Mechagodzilla's eye lasers.

Mothra Leo then came out of the cave and dodged Godzilla's atomic breath, with Godzilla then targeting Torema when she tried to talk Godzilla out of it. Mothra Leo then knocked Godzilla over with antennae lasers but Godzilla retaliated with atomic breath, knocking Mothra Leo out of the sky. Godzilla then absorbed Mothra Leo's aura and made his way towards Baragon's House, attacking the subterranean monster with atomic breath and then wrestling with the monster. After absorbing Baragon's aura, Godzilla began to make his way towards the G-Guard base and began to attack it with atomic breath. However, Junior and King Caesar appeared behind him, the latter holding a talisman which he threw at Godzilla, successfully exorcising him of SpaceGodzilla's ghost. However, this had the side-effect of bringing SpaceGodzilla himself back to life, now empowered by the monster auras. He attacked Godzilla with his beam attack which easily knocked him over though Godzilla got back up and began to wrestle with his doppelganger. Godzilla then attempted to use his atomic breath against SpaceGodzilla but this has no effect due to both SpaceGodzilla's revived form being stronger and Godzilla's aura being removed by SpaceGodzilla, who attackd Godzilla again with his beam attack. However, Junior joined the fight and with assistance from Torema via the Panna Torte's lasers, father and son killed SpaceGodzilla with their atomic breaths. SpaceGodzilla's death also released the auras of the other monster inhabitants who all returned to life.

The Artificial Sun

Godzilla was first seen alongside Rodan, Anguirus and Gorosaurus, all four monsters reacting in discomfort to the presence of a second sun the Xiliens sent over the island. Godzilla then watched as the Panna Torte fell back to Earth due to the radiation frying its controls, Torema having piloted it in an attempt to shoot the artificial sun down. Godzilla and Anguirus then noticed a forest fire breaking out due to the dryness of the air, Beisuke Jinguji deploying Fire Fighter Jet Jaguar in response. After Jinguji freed Megalon and Destoroyah from Monster Jail to stop them from suffocating and they ungratefully attacked Fire Fighter Jet Jaguar as the robot attempted to put out the fire, Godzilla appeared to stop them and fired his atomic breath at Destoroyah but he dodged and the attack instead hit Megalon. Godzilla then began to wrestle with Destoroyah while Megalon attacked Fire Fighter Jet Jaguar but Torema knocked down Megalon using the Panna Torte's lasers, allowing Fire Fighter Jet Jaguar to put out the forest fire. Godzilla threw Destoroyah to the ground and Destoroyah attempted to fight back with his Oxygen Destroyer Ray but is unable to due to having been injected with an energy suppressant intended to prevent them from breaking out of jail. Godzilla easily knocked Destoroyah down with his atomic breath, leading Zagreth to order both Destoroyah and Megalon to retreat.

When Lucas later reported Destoroyah and Megalon coming back to the island in order to attack the anti-aircraft laser cannon intended to destroy the artificial sun, Beisuke Jinguji ordered Godzilla and Rodan into action to stop the two monsters. While Rodan battled Megalon in the sky, Godzilla and Destoroyah began fighting on the ground with Godzilla easily throwing Destoroyah to the ground but then being badly hurt by Destoroyah's Oxygen Destroyer Ray. After Destoroyah caused Torema to miss her target and then attempted to fully destroy the cannon, Godzilla got back up but was again knocked to the ground by Destoroyah's Oxygen Destroyer Ray. After Rodan knocked Megalon to the ground and caused him to land on Destoroyah, Godzilla recovers just after Destoroyah and stopped him from attacking the laser cannon. Godzilla accidently hit a solar panel with atomic breath while aiming at Destoroyah but this has the effect of charging it up faster though Destoroyah interrupted him when he tried to fire his atomic breath again at Torema's request. Luckily, Rodan arrived in time and threw Megalon into Destoroyah, allowing Godzilla to charge up the solar panel and help Torema fire the cannon and destroy the artificial sun. After Megalon and Destoroyah were ordered to retreat, Godzilla later celebrated the arrival of rain with the other monsters on the island.

Mechagodzilla

Godzilla watched with several other monsters as Zagreth landed on Godzilla Island while piloting Black Mechagodzilla in order to challenge Torema to a duel. Torema showed up to the duel using the Mechagodzilla built by G-Guard and told the monsters not to interfere in the duel as it is only between her and Zagreth, the monsters reluctantly backing away as a result. However, when Zagreth cowardly cheated and shot Mechagodzilla before the agreed five steps were over, Godzilla and the other monsters furiously attacked Black Mechagodzilla and kicked it to the ground. After Zagreth escaped imprisonment and stole Proto-Moguera to use to destroy the construction site for the second G-Guard base, Godzilla appeared as she activates dynamite using Proto-Moguera to blow away Anguirus and Baragon and roared a challenge to her though she knocked him down with Proto-Moguera's eye lasers. He got back up shortly after but was knocked down again and was unable to react to Proto-Moguera's eye lasers. However, Torema entered the battle with Black Mechagodzilla and Godzilla was able to help her damage Proto-Moguera to the point where the Vabaruda had to collect the robot so that it and its pilot can retreat.

Goodbye, Torema
Godzilla standing next to Gorosaurus and holding a severed Mecha-King Ghidorah head

Godzilla and Torema left Godzilla Island to go to Matango Island on a recon mission after Kamacuras told them that Zagreth has called in an army of space monsters who are meeting on Matango Island. They arrived on Matango Island and didn't find a horde of monsters but did find Destoroyah and Megalon. They followed the two monsters into a cave but Destoroyah and Megalon flew out of the cave and destroyed the entrance, blocking Godzilla and Torema in the cave. To make matters worse, Proto-Moguera suddenly appeared from the cave floor and fired eye lasers at Godzilla before disappearing back into the ground. It repeated this process while Godzilla and Torema tried to attack it whenever it emerged until Godzilla caught it off-guard with a tail-swipe. However, Godzilla collapsed shortly after this and Torema attempted to break the rocks blocking the entrance with the Panna Torte until Godzilla got back up and helped her with his atomic breath and raw strength. However, the two were unable to break away enough of the entrance before the cave collapsed and Godzilla pushed her and the Panna Torte out of the cave as it collapsed, with Torema swearing that she would come back to save him when she helped out with the invasion of the G-Guard base.

After she went back to Godzilla Island and noticed Kamacuras attempting to convince the monsters to join him and Zagreth by lying that Godzilla had died and successfully convincing Baragon and Gorosaurus, Torema returned to the cave on Matango Island to find Godzilla still fighting Proto-Moguera. They temporarily defeated the robot with blasts from the Panna Torte and a tail-swipe, both hitting Proto-Moguera in the face though Proto-Moguera surfaced again shortly after. However, the last tail-swipe had damaged Proto-Moguera's processor and caused it to move randomly until it accidently burrowed out of the blocked cave entrance and allowed the pair to escape. However, Destoroyah and Megalon appeared and began to mob Godzilla. Torema interfered in the fight with lasers from the Panna Torte aimed at Destoroyah but Megalon knocked her out of the sky with a napalm bomb. As they continued to mob Godzilla, Proto-Moguera walked into the fight and knocked all three down, prompting a furious Destoroyah to beat the robot. They continued to beat Godzilla until Gigan suddenly appeared and helped Godzilla defeat the pair, the two of them dragging the evil monsters into the cave and imprisoning them. Gigan explained that he wants to be the one who defeats Godzilla and flies away. Godzilla swam back to Godzilla Island while Torema stayed on Matango Island to fix the Panna Torte. Godzilla arrived while Baragon and Gorosaurus, having switched sides in Godzilla's absence, attacked Mechagodzilla while Mecha-King Ghidorah attacked the other monsters on Godzilla Island. Godzilla's appearance convinced the other monsters to swarm Mecha-King Ghidorah and they send the cyborg into retreat. Godzilla later watched as Zagreth piloted the Vabaruda right towards Godzilla Island and has a hole blown in it by the Anti-Aircraft Laser Cannon, which the Panna Torte enters through. Godzilla later watched with all the other monsters and robots on the island when Torema left to try and defeat Zagreth.

Bonus

Godzilla was seen relaxing in the hot spring along with King Caesar. Lucas made fun of him but Beisuke Jinguji reminded him that Godzilla's had to battle with many evil monsters due to the Xilien's repeated invasion attempts and list some of them: SpaceGodzilla, King Ghidorah, Destoroyah, Gigan, Hedorah and Mecha-King Ghidorah. They also commented on other occasions such as when Godzilla was possessed by SpaceGodzilla's ghost and when Kamacuras tricked Godzilla and Torema into going into a trap on Matango Island.

Introducing Misato

Godzilla was seen with Junior and Rodan during a peaceful period on Godzilla Island. Godzilla and the other monsters were then seen reacting to the return of the Vabaruda, which later reappeared and shot at them, blowing them away. Godzilla triumphantly roared when the Vabaruda retreated following an attack from the anti-aircraft laser cannons and later greeted Misato Jinguji when she came to the island. After being asked what the secret of Godzilla Island is by Misato and not knowing, Godzilla watched as a missile sent by the Xiliens landed on Godzilla Island and began emitting yellow smoke and Junior knocked it over, though the monsters do not realise the danger of the smoke and begin dancing when Randeth, who had been appointed by the Giant Dark Emperor after firing Zagreth, plays music from a giant radio. The monsters continued dancing for days, even after Jinguji piloted Mechagodzilla in a failed attempt to shoot the radio down. While Misato is able to counter Randeth's plans using opposing sound waves, the damage had already been done by that point and the monsters collapsed from exhaustion. Randeth furiously summoned King Ghidorah, who defeated Moguera and began attacking the G-Guard base until Godzilla, having apparently recovered from his exhaustion, appeared to stop him. Godzilla knocked the space monster out of the sky with atomic breath and then pounced on him though the dragon simply flew away and dropped Godzilla to the ground. Godzilla quickly got back up and began wrestling with the monster after resisting his gravity beams though Godzilla became tired and unable to effectively fight King Ghidorah. Misato then used Medical Jet Jaguar to infect King Ghidorah with dance-globin smoke, prompting Randeth and King Ghidorah to retreat after the monster began uncontrollably dancing when Misato played music though this also caused the other monsters on the island to begin dancing once again.

Second Generation Mothra

When an earthquake struck Godzilla Island due to the eruption of Mt. Gorath, Godzilla and many of the monsters reacted in fear to it though they recovered quickly from the shock. While Megalon and Destoroyah were in the process of kidnapping Mothra's egg after they defeated Mothra Leo, Mechagodzilla and Moguera, Godzilla arrived on the scene and knocked Megalon down with a blast of atomic breath. Godzilla then began to wrestle with Destoroyah though Megalon managed to successfully transport the egg to Matango Island, with Destoroyah following shortly after. Misato and Lucas then discussed the best possible option going forward and her relationship with her father while watching Godzilla and Junior play. Godzilla then came across Baby Mothra while she was attacking Junior and she fired silk at him so he fired atomic breath back at her though Mothra Leo appeared and defended his sister, leading to a fight between Godzilla and Mothra Leo. An injured Godzilla and Mothra Leo watched as Battra arrived and began to speak to Baby Mothra before carrying her away. Godzilla then reappeared while Battra was attacking both Mothra Leo and Baby Mothra, as Randeth had insisted that Baby Mothra had played her part in their plans and therefore Battra was allowed to kill her, and fired atomic breath at Battra and knocked him out of the sky. Battra then fought back both physically and with an orange mist until Baby Mothra, having remembered when she was still in her egg, assisted Godzilla by attacking Battra with a Petite Railgun and then webbed him up in her silk. However, Megalon and Destoroyah returned once again and Godzilla instantly began wrestling with Destoroyah while Megalon attacked both Mothras but was defeated after Misato made him pass out by making him spin around. Godzilla overpowered Destoroyah and threw him next to Megalon and Battra where all three were webbed up by Baby Mothra. They were then knocked apart by Godzilla and both Mothras beam attacks and then returned to the Vabaruda.

Dororin

After meeting Gigan on Matango Island, Misato told some of the inhabitants of Godzilla Island about this meeting, including Godzilla, and was later told by her father and Lucas that Godzilla and Gigan were rivals and they were technically tied due to Gigan winning the first match and Godzilla the second. Later, while Godzilla peacefully roamed on Godzilla Island, the new Xilien pawn Dororin attacked Godzilla with a boulder while in Gigan's form, convincing him that Gigan had just attacked him. Godzilla then noticed Gigan himself, who believed that Godzilla had attacked him due to Dororin's shapeshifting abilities, arriving on Godzilla Island ad the two duelled, ignoring Misato's attempts to stop them from battling. Godzilla and Gigan even ignored Misato when she told them that G-Guard base was under attack and left them to their battle. Their duel is finally interrupted by Moguera, being piloted by Nao Koda, who tells them that the G-Guard base is under attack. Godzilla and Gigan quickly debate before Godzilla leaves to fight Dororin, prioritising the safety of his friends over his duel. Godzilla arrived at the G-Guard base and began to attack Dororin, wrestling with him after attacking Dororin with atomic breath and then destroying him when he threw him to the ground though Dororin reformed to continue the battle. Dororin then reappeared behind Godzilla and attacked the king of the monsters with his eye lasers though these merely annoyed him. Dororin then reappeared behind Godzilla yet again and restrained him until Gigan suddenly appeared and attacked Dororin, knocking him to the floor and shattering his dirt body though he quickly reformed. Luckily, Misato arrived in Fire Fighter Jet Jaguar and sprayed Dororin with the hose, having discovered Dororin's weakness to water. Godzilla watched as Dororin's dirt body turned to mud and the orb that was Dororin himself flew away, with Gigan chasing him and killing him, finally ending Dororin's terror. Gigan continued flying and shot down a message arrow to Godzilla telling him that he would be the one to defeat Godzilla.

Anguirus

Godzilla was one of the monsters waiting in a line to have his health checked up on by Misato in Medical Jet Jaguar, watching after Gorosaurus and Baragon accidently pushed his son Junior into Anguirus' spiky carapace, with Anguirus deliberately isolating himself to avoid causing the others pain. Godzilla was later one of the many monsters who went to investigate a strange cactus that suddenly appeared on the island, unknown to them that it was actually a Xilien pawn called Gororin, with Cactus Square being set up as an area on the island. Godzilla was later woken up in the night by Anguirus attacking Gororin and roared at him to stop attacking it. The very next day, Godzilla was attacked by Gororin's spines as the cactus monster went berserk and rampaged through the island, attacking anything in its sight. As it approached him after attacking the other monsters, Godzilla fired atomic breath at it but only stopped it for a couple of seconds, showing no apparent damage from his attack and later bowled through a six-monster defensive formation which included Godzilla. After Anguirus was able to pin Gororin to the side of a mountain, Godzilla and a group of other monsters appeared to help stop the evil cactus but were repelled by its spines with Godzilla being stabbed by two after trying to use atomic breath on it. Luckily, Nao arrived in Moguera and stabbed Gororin with hair removal cream which made its spines fall off and Anguirus passed it to Godzilla who threw at it the Vabaruda as it attempted to retrieve Gororin, finally killing Gororin for good. Godzilla then joined the other monsters in praising Anguirus for his role in defeating Gororin.

Atomic breath

Godzilla often uses his atomic breath against monsters and other enemies. He used it to destroy one of SpaceGodzilla's shoulder crystals and destroy SpaceGodzilla himself when combining the attack with laser blasts from Torema's ship the Panna Torte. Godzilla also uses atomic breath against other monsters and enemies in the series such as King Ghidorah, Fake Godzilla, the Infrared Auto-Blaster, Destoroyah, Gigan, Hedorah, Mecha-King Ghidorah, Megalon, Proto-Moguera, Battra, Dororin, Gororin, more TBA. Godzilla's atomic breath was also able to destroy Mecha-King Ghidorah's weakened head when combined with Mechagodzilla's eye lasers and King Caesar's lightning attack. It is however, ineffective against the revived SpaceGodzilla after Godzilla has his aura removed by SpaceGodzilla and completely ineffective against the cactus monster Gororin even at its regular power.

After Godzilla meditates under King Caesar's teaching, he learns the Miraculous Secret Technique which allows him to bend his beam of atomic breath while it is firing. He uses this ability to strike Gigan from behind during the second duel. However, it is revealed by Torema in the eighth story arc that this ability requires a lot of mental power and so he doesn't use this ability very often.

When possessed by SpaceGodzilla's ghost, Godzilla's atomic breath changes in color to become red and is stated by Lucas to also increase in strength. He uses this red atomic breath to easily defeat both Mechagodzilla and Moguera and then shoot down Mothra Leo.

Physical capabilities

Godzilla is very physically powerful and was shown to be similar in strength to his doppelganger SpaceGodzilla when the two fought. In addition to SpaceGodzilla, Godzilla wrestles with other monsters in the series including King Ghidorah, Destoroyah, Hedorah, Mecha-King Ghidorah, both Gorosaurus and Baragon when Godzilla was possessed by SpaceGodzilla's ghost, Dororin, more TBA.

He also uses his tail against Rodan when the two were being influenced by the effects of the Berserker Wave Tower, his teeth against King Ghidorah when he bit the space dragon on his neck and tail, and kicks Gigan to the ground during their second duel after striking him from behind using his atomic breath which had been enhanced by the Miraculous Secret Technique. He also has the strength to flip Mechagodzilla over despite the constriction of the metal collar when Beisuke Jinguji was being mind-controlled.

Amphibiousness

Godzilla is capable of moving on both land and water, as seen when he surfaces following him, Rodan and King Ghidorah into the sea. He also swims to both Tokyo and Matango Island in the series.

Durability

Godzilla has high durability and is infrequently badly injured by attacks. He was unaffected by Fake Godzilla's atomic breath and was capable of tolerating Gigan's attacks in the 16th story arc to the point where neither was able to overpower the other. Dororin's eye lasers also had no effect on Godzilla outside of annoying him. While Gororin's spines were capable of causing him to retreat and penetrating his flesh, he did not seem to suffer long-lasting damage because of them. More TBA

Intelligence

Godzilla is shown to be an intelligent creature as he strategizes with both his fellow kaiju on Godzilla Island, the various robots located on the island, Torema and humanity. More TBA

Communication

Godzilla is capable of communicating with various other lifeforms including other monsters, Torema and Misato Jinguji.

Aura stealing

When possessed by SpaceGodzilla's ghost, Godzilla gains the ability to absorb the auras of other monsters such as Rodan, Anguirus, Gorosaurus, Mothra Leo and Baragon.

Weaknesses

Godzilla's durability is not limitless and can be overpowered by other monsters such as King Ghidorah when the monster was empowered by a Nourishing Akamanda Drink Beam making him three times as powerful, with the monster almost killing Godzilla with his gravity beams. Godzilla was also badly injured by both the Infrared Auto-Blaster and Gigan, forcing Rodan to collect him on both occasions in order to retreat.

Godzilla was also hurt by the toxic fumes emitted by Hedorah's meteor and the resulting acid rain, which hurt every other monster on the island caught by it and sapped their power. Hedorah also easily defeated Godzilla with eye lasers due to Godzilla injuries from the toxic smoke and acid rain. Destoroyah's Oxygen Destroyer Ray also seems to badly hurt Godzilla, knocking him to the ground and making it hard for him to fight back.

Roar

This incarnation of Godzilla reuses the roar of the Showa Godzilla from King Kong vs. Godzilla through Terror of Mechagodzilla.
