Revision as of 17:57, 20 March 2024

This is a list of all monsters and mechas that have appeared in the Godzilla franchise, organized by the medium they appeared in using order of introduction, plus the work in which they were introduced and not the work in which they originated: for example, Mothra was introduced to the Godzilla franchise in Mothra vs. Godzilla, so she is listed under "Films" as "Mothra (Mothra vs. Godzilla)." The list also lists the introductions of new forms for monsters.

Toho monsters that made an appearance before being in Godzilla media are marked in italics. This list does not include Toho monsters that have never appeared in the Godzilla series in any way, shape or form.

This list may not be 100% complete, but is nevertheless comprehensive and expansive.

Press Ctrl+F on Windows or Cmd+F on Mac to look for a specific monster.

Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla (2002)
History
Main article: Trilobite#Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla.

By 1999, scientist Tokumitsu Yuhara had successfully created a cybernetic trilobite, which was dubbed a Mecha-Trilobite (メカトリロバイト,   Mekatorirobaito). Using living nerves and tissue from horseshoe crabs along with robotic components and special "DNA computers," Yuhara perfectly replicated the extinct arthropod, which moved and behaved as if it were alive. Yuhara intended to use this method to revive extinct species and preserve endangered ones. When the Japanese government learned of Yuhara's work, it recruited him to use his method to cybernetically revive the original Godzilla by merging his skeleton into a battle machine dubbed Kiryu so it could fight the current Godzilla.
